Jerusalem Sunrise 馃寘 | Pool of Siloam, Silwan Village & Hinnom Valley

As the first light of sunrise touches the ancient hills of Jerusalem, I begin my walk near the Pool of Siloam.

This place holds deep historical and biblical significance, resting quietly at the edge of the Old City. The early morning light reflects gently on the water and stone, creating a peaceful atmosphere where history and daily life meet.

From here, I continue toward Silwan Village, a historic neighborhood built along the slopes of the Kidron Valley. Walking through Silwan, the city feels layered — ancient landscapes, lived-in homes, and narrow paths that have been part of Jerusalem’s story for centuries. It is a place where history is not distant, but still present in everyday life.

Step by step, I make my way toward the Valley of Hinnom, one of the most dramatic natural landscapes surrounding the Old City. Known in ancient tradition for its deep historical and symbolic meaning, the valley today feels quiet and open, with wide views and a strong sense of depth and space. The contrast between the city above and the valley below creates a powerful atmosphere, especially in the soft light of sunrise.

I walk slowly… letting Jerusalem reveal itself through light, silence, and landscape.
