SONES: Announcement Regarding New Book Title

A new title for a clearer focus: How a personal, multi-generational story provides the analytical key to Iran-Contra, COVID-19, and October 7th

First, I wish to extend my gratitude to all subscribers—especially our new paid members—for the support you have shown this project.

As I continue the work of preparing the subsequent chapters, the writing process itself has clarified the book’s central, unifying thesis.

The original title, “State Secret: Nothing New Under the Gun,” served to capture the repetitive nature of the ‘playbook’ I witnessed. However, I have come to believe that a more precise title is required, one that identifies the underlying reason for such a playbook. This book is not merely about the methods of covert action, but about the systemic failures that make such actions necessary.

I have therefore retitled the book. The new title is:

Normal Channels: Blocked or Compromised

This phrase is the central theme of the work. It is not simply a political theory but a concept rooted in my personal and family history.

It is the principle that explains my father’s entire life story—a series of bizarre “coincidences” that “blocked” his every attempt to enter military service at the peak of the Vietnam War. It is a theme that resonates with my own path: at age 15, for reasons I will detail in the book, I also bypassed the “normal channel” of high school, viewing it as insufficient, and proceeded directly to the United States Senate.

This recurring pattern—whereby the stated, official system is not merely fallible but is actively ‘Blocked or Compromised,’ forcing individuals to find alternative paths to expose the truth—is the analytical framework for this book. Once this pattern is recognized, the actions of those who operate outside of ‘normal channels’ become clear.

It is the phrase that explains why Andrew Eiva was compelled to alert the press to the CIA’s “one minute per month” falsehood regarding the Afghan mujahedin.

It is the phrase that explains why a Westinghouse whistleblower, fearing for his life, had to bypass the system and deliver his evidence to a 17-year-old Senate lobbyist.

And it is the phrase that explains the necessity of my 1998 report on the PA’s “First Strike” preparations—a report written precisely because “normal channels” in the Israeli government were ignoring or actively concealing the threat.

This title is the analytical key that connects Iran-Contra, the COVID-19 rollout, and the coordinated pretext that was October 7th. It is the story of what one must do after discovering the system is broken.
