Crispy Schnitzel Fries
- 500 g 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 medium potato grated
- 1 small onion grated
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp sweet paprika

- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- Oil for frying
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, grated potato, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, turmeric, paprika and shawarma. Mix well.
- Transfer mixture to a resealable plastic bag, or spread evenly in a rectangular pan lined with parchment paper. Flatten the mixture into a rectangle, cover, and freeze for 2 hours.
- Meanwhile prepare dipping station. In one bowl, whisk eggs. In another, mix breadcrumbs with sesame seeds.
- Remove the frozen mixture from freezer and cut it into even strips to form fries.
- Dip each strip first in the egg, then coat thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixtures
- Heat about 1–1.5 cm (1/2 inch) of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the schnitzel strips in batches until golden and crispy on all sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Notes You can freeze any unused mixture for quick and easy frying later; add spices like garlic powder or smoked paprika to the egg mixture before coating.
