Last night's Amalek and Erev Rav program took a close look at the Bring Them Home NOW propaganda campaign and related matters. The recording is available here. [highly recommended]
Did you know that the ubiquitous Bring Them Home NOW propaganda campaign was supposedly started by families of the hostages less than 24 hours after the hostages were taken — while many communities were still under siege? Is that even possible, let alone plausible?
That's the cover story. Do you buy it?
Did you ever wonder who's running this massive operation and where they get the gazillions of shekels it costs? Why doesn't their website have ANY names of those who are running the campaign, if only to give them credit and have the veneer of accountability?
Did you ever wonder why this propaganda doesn't appear in so-called "haredi" communities? Isn't it odd that they seem to run out of posters precisely where these neighborhoods begin?
Did you ever wonder why there seems to be limitless money and resources to get people to support the war, and to create massive events "giving chizuk to the soldiers", yet we need worldwide fundraising campaigns to buy them food, clothing, and basic protective gear, while families and businesses go under?
Did you ever wonder why it's safe for thousands of citizens to enter a war zone to give chizuk to the troops, but it's unsafe for displaced citizens to live in their homes?
Why are our best and bravest Jewish fighters being sent into booby-trapped buildings and tunnels? Why can't the Start-up
Nation offer a more high-tech solution?
What is the real goal of this war?
Is it worth the toll on families who have their main breadwinners and loved ones God-knows-where for months on end? For how long? To what end?
Is it worth all the soldiers who are being maimed and killed? What are they dying for exactly? Are we even allowed to ask before we send people into the meat grinder?
Is it worth all the business that are going under? Is it worth decimating the economy and driving the cost of living even more out of reach for many families? Are we even allowed to ask before driving families and business into the ground?
Is it worth displacing the population into refugee centers, turning their cities into ghost towns, and eventually concentrating them into what are essentially 15-minute cities?
Should we give up what little remains of our freedom so the very people who brought this catastrophe upon us can "keep up safe"?
Should we follow the same Erev Rav leaders, media, and organizations that we learned so much about the last few years just because now it's a "war" and they are "supporting Israel"?
Is this really a milchemes mitzvah?
If they care so much about the hostages, why didn't they do more to prevent them from being taken in the first place? Do they really care so much about the hostages now...or are the hostages just a tool to manipulate us, distract us, and push a sinister agenda?
Are the powers-that-be really at war with our enemies...or are they at war with us?
We have the right to ask these questions, and we have the right to demand satisfactory answers BEFORE surrendering our freedom and safety to those who refuse to be accountable to us.
