Rabin was the prime minister who owns the revolutionary and super controversial Oslo accords which tore the country apart(and tote thousands of Jews apart quite literally) from the moment that PLO chairman Yassar Arafat was welcomed on a red carpet into our midsts in 1993.
Yigal Amir, a law student at Bar Ilan university shot him in order to "stop Oslo”. He was constantly incited to do so by a "close friend" – an official government agent provocateur whose code name was "champagne”. Avishai Raviv was his real name. He knew. He was silent. He allowed it to happen
Many questions have been raised about the incident itself. Questions were raised about exactly who when where and how the deed was done. The questions are far better than the answers.Much of the information that was exposed before the court of inquiry is still sealed to this day.
Which brings us to the latest media item; Dr. Mordechai Kedar, Professor of Mid East studies at Bar Ilan university announced that he feels that Yigal Amir might not have been the one who killed Rabin. He explained that his information comes from a series of conversations he had with Dr. Nachum Shachaf. Dr. Shachaf is an award-winning (Israel prize, Ministry of Science prize) physicist who had dedicated many years researching the Rabin assassination. As interesting as the statement by Dr. Kedar is the response of the mainstream media and the "establishment" including his own Bar Ilan University. In short, he is being labeled everything from a lunatic to a demon. His university distanced itself from him and has already canceled his participation in an academic conference abroad.

(no one is allowed to question the DS “narrative”. we see that happening in many places. “the ones that scream the loudest are the ones in trouble.)
Twenty-five years have passed and still, any challenge to the "official" version of those events is treated as a "counter-revolutionary,” like in the good old Soviet Union.
How would an academic or anyone be treated in the USA for challenging the accepted narrative on Lincoln's assassination, or that of Kennedy? Weird, dumb, interesting. Take your pick. Grounds for killing a career? Marking a person as an "enemy of the people”?
Why is this so in today’sIsrael? Because the "Left" has used the Rabin assassination as their permanent political/cultural weapon to silence anyone who does not support his "legacy". For the Left, it is enough to simply mention the word Rabin to feel they have the moral high ground in any political debate. The "Right" killed him and with him, the "Peace”. "If he had only lived all would have been perfect. "Oslo " was just about to prove itself. "The "Right" was too obtuse to understand that.
Dr. Kedar explained that according to the research he was exposed to, the assassination was arranged by a "high-level politician" (I did not say his initials may have been S.P.) who feared that Rabin was about to turn his back on the Oslo process in the wake of its bloody results thus far. One wonders, why are the files still sealed on the official investigation?
Why indeed?
Thank you, Dr. Kedar, for shining a light on not just an open historical question but on the reality of Israel today.

* [someone] saw a video of Rabin walking into the car and then some few years later the xrays from emergency room were revealed which showed that the shots were from the front onto the chest. Thus the delay in arriving to the emergency room. […] The doctors in emergency room were threatened to secrecy. The shin bet was responsible to provoke anti religious sentiment amongst the people which it did. [partial commentary about this topic]
