IT HAS BEEN DECREED ...

IT HAS BEEN DECREED
Jerusalem Building to Continue

“...Buoyed by virtually unanimous Cabinet support,
Netanyahu told Likud Knesset Members at a party meeting, “Building in Jerusalem and in all other places will continue in the same way that has been accepted in the last 42 years.” He added that the construction does not harm Arabs.

Ramat Shlomo shares the same status as French Hill, Ramot and Gilo,
totally Jewish areas that are considered to be politically “untouchable” by any agreement for a new Palestinian Authority state within Israel’s current borders.

Some of the voices in response to the latest nasty attack on Netanyahu:

Thank God it's the Chareidim
This blow-up with the US couldn't have happened in any better way. Imagine if we were talking about 1600 apartments in Talpiot or in Pisgat Ze'ev …. But instead it happened to a Chareidi neighborhood .... Unlike the rest of us sheep, the Chareidim don't take it lying down when someone goes after their housing... the Chareidim are not going to let this go. They're willing to rip apart the coalition and the country before they allow someone to block housing for their rapidly growing population….

Michael Oren is saying the the Israel-US crisis is the worst it's been since 1975 when the US tried to force Israel to evacuate the Sinai.
Obama's secret plan isn't even secret anymore. It's all coming out of the horse's mouth. Jerusalem is to be divided.

Stands Alone
Akiva at Mystical Paths: In the blink of an eye Israel moved from having a big brother ally to standing alone. What happened? Israel announced construction in Jewish Jerusalem during Vice President Biden's visit.

Not "East Jerusalem". Not a mixed Arab/Jewish neighborhood. An empty Northern Jerusalem hilltop that was developed into a Jewish neighborhood over the past 20 years. “The US administration is 'peeved' that they've lost perceived Middle East influence and they're throwing a tantrum (Chicago politics style).”

[This neighborhood was built in memory of Rabbi Shlomo Auerbach zt”l, and NOW maybe his voice in Shomayim will get things moving ….. the Geulah]

Ramat Shlomo and the Prospects for Peace
Israel Matzav has some choice words: “...if Washington and Europe were serious about wanting an agreement, they would essentially tell the Palestinians: “Grow up. You can’t turn the clock back 43 years, so not everything that was Jordanian-occupied territory in May 1967 will eventually become Palestinian. Some of it will remain Israeli — and that includes Ramat Shlomo...”

And Yaak hits it squarely:

“OAliBabaBama pandering to the Arab world, what will be? Who should we turn to for help?” See cartoon and article at YerenanYaakov
