Though the Chinese will finance the irrigation of what’s purported to be avocado groves, the move will also necessitate the building of two huge desalination facilities in the Mediterranean, which all parties agree would raise production costs, perhaps to a level that renders the entire project financially unviable.
5. Moeover, desalination is known to damage shorelines and fisheries, as the process dumps massive quantities of salt back into the sea. Almost nothing can survive the extreme salt saturation that results — as anyone familiar with the Dead Sea can attest. Efforts to build a new desalination plant in the Western Galilee have met with fierce opposition from local residents, fishermen and environmentalists aware of the massive pollution also caused by these facilities.”

Residents of settlements in Judea and Samaria are demanding that the IDF permit them to carry assault rifles for their own protection, such as the M-16 or M-4 models, in light of the increased number of attacks on the roads in the region, Israel Hayom reported.

The residents said that the IDF has acted in recent years to reduce them number of assault weapons in the settlements, often at the expense of the residents' security.

Residents of Judea and Samaria who meet the criteria of the Weapons Licensing Division in the Public Security Ministry may obtain a gun license, and many do so, but unlike the situation in the past where it was possible to obtain an assault rifle, with the understanding that there are areas where a weapon with a range greater than the ten meters of a standard handgun is needed , today the vast majority of requests to receive a firearm with a long range are not accepted.

A senior security official in Judea and Samaria says that for several years the IDF has been making efforts to reduce as much as possible the number of weapons in the hands of civilians, apparently out of fear that these will be stolen.

"There is a clear trend in which residents are not allowed to get guns, and weapons are taken from those who own them. This is unfair and illogical. IDF Rules of Engagement gave terrorists the chance to slaughter an entire family

Dr. Yehuda Yifrach, head of the legal desk of the Makor Rishon newspaper, shared a shocking report in the Friday edition:
A team of IDF sharpshooters and spotters deployed to ambush terrorists expected to attack the Beit El community from Old Highway 60 were instructed by direct order from the brigade commander in words which meant not to open fire unless it was certain that a terrorist attack HAD taken place.

Yes. The instruction was NOT TO OPEN FIRE UNTIL THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY SURE IT WAS A TERRORIST ATTACK, THAT IS, NOT UNTIL THE TERRORIST TOOK A SHOT. https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/361520

Yifrach writes that the soldiers were very upset by the order which struck them as illogical and want to bring up the incident again and again until they receive an acceptable response from their superiors.

Here is the event, step by step:

#1. For two weeks the IDF sharpshooters and spotters were deployed in the location.
#2. During the Sukkot holiday, when people eat outside of their homes, the spotter, using night vision, identified a suspicious car with two men inside approaching on the road and began to monitor it.
#3. The spotter saw the vehicle stop and a terrorist, armed with an automatic weapon, get out of the vehicle.
#4. The spotter saw the terrorist raise his weapon, position himself to fire towards the direction of the Beit El community and seek a target. The spotter waited.
#5. The terrorist opened fire, spraying the Nizri family sukkah with bullet as the family ate dinner. One family member was lightly injured.
#6. A sharpshooter then killed the terrorist with a shot fired from a distance of 240 meters.
#7. The second terrorist escaped in the car and was captured later.

It turned out the no one in the sukkah was murdered, a miracle if ever there was one, and since this incident did not take place in the Israeli Air Force, where near misses are investigated with the same vigor as tragedies, what transpired received the standard Israeli reaction: since things essentially worked out the incident was inconsequential.

Now I am absolutely sure that if, thanks to the direct orders of the brigade commander, the NIzri family had been slaughtered that night, that the brigade commander would no longer be holding his command […]

After listening to these new video compilations (following) of Rabbi Kessin’s thought process, I will attempt to highlight more Key Concepts. But for now, we are watching how Hashem has maneuvered so-called JB into (intentionally) provoking the *world into the next phrase of our Geulah. City of Spies

The mere fact that Jews are living outside the Land of Israel (Eretz Yisrael) is a desecration of G-d. Why? Op-ed. By Tzvi Fishman

The Gemara informs us that in the time immediately preceding the advent of Mashiach, known as the “Footsteps of Mashiach,” truth will disappear. A spirit of falsehood will grip the Jewish People and no one will want to hear the truth.

That time has arrived. The new government in Israel, which was founded upon falsehood and voter betrayal, is one example. Yesterday’s inauguration of the “City of Spies” in Mexico is another.

The “City of Spies” is my name for the disgraceful endeavor. Its organizers bill the pumped-up extravaganza as the “City of Torah.” Here is their press release:

Hundreds of members of the Jewish community of Mexico participated in a rare and uplifting Shabbat at the Marriott Hotel in Extep de la Salle near the new 'City of Torah' neighborhood. As Shabbat approached, the heads of the Torat Eliyahu Institution gathered to purchase land in the City of Torah, where a Yeshiva will be built on an area of ​​60,000 meters, with the yeshiva's main building in the center. About 40 houses are intended for students, who will dedicate their lives to the Torah and will be able to live in them free of charge. Several notable rabbis from the United States of America spent the weekend there, with the intent of emphasizing how the intention behind the City of Torah is to enjoy learning the Torah away from the stress of city life.”

The Spies in the Wilderness also wanted to establish a “City of Torah” away from the stress of conquering the Land of Israel and dwelling in the Promised Land in accordance with Hashem’s command. Their unwillingness to establish their Torah City in Israel was the greatest sin in Jewish History. The entire male generation was punished with death in the wilderness. Hashem called them rebels and non-believers for disobeying His command to live in Eretz Yisrael. Our Sages teach that their national betrayal fell on Tisha B’Av and set the foundation for the future destruction of the Temple and our exile from the Land.

Certainly, in the eyes of the prophet Ezekiel, the “City of Torah” in Mexico is a Chillul Hashem – a desecration of the Name of G-d. He declares:

And when they came to the nations into which they came, they profaned My Holy Name, in that men said of them: These are the people of the L-rd, and they are gone out of His land,” (Ezekiel, 36:20).

This prophecy is coming to tell us the mere fact that Jews are living outside the Land of Israel is a desecration of G-d. Why? Because in the eyes of the Gentiles, our presence in the Diaspora proclaims that G-d lacks the power to keep us in His Land. That was back then in Ezekiel’s days. Now in our time, when G-d has returned the Land of Israel to the Jews, the situation is even worse, for it seems, in the eyes of the Gentiles, that in clinging to Diaspora communities, and in establishing a “ City of Torah” in the Catholic country of Mexico, we prefer foreign lands to the Land which Hashem bequeathed to the Jews.

If the Jews of Mexico have the millions to build a “City of Torah” in the wilderness of Mexico, they could just as easily use the money to send yeshiva students to Israel to learn and to live. By turning their backs on the Promised Land, and choosing to stay in Mexico, or America, Australia, South Africa, or France, this is a desecration of G-d. This is what G-d’s prophet is telling us, and presumably, his rabbinical ordination is no less than the Rabbis who flocked to join the festive inaugural ceremonies in the Mexican hotel on Shabbat.

Lest you want to believe that these words are merely the ranting of Tzvi Fishman, here are some reader comments from the Hebrew Arutz 7 website in reaction to the “City of Torah” press release. All twenty entries condemn the project and the fanfare surrounding it, giving hope that truth has not vanished completely:

“The Chatam Sofer already cited the prohibition against building permanent structures in lands of impurity. The Meshech Chochmah writes that when Jews turn Berlin into Jerusalem a storm-wind will arise and uproot them. Jews of Mexico - rectify your errant ways and come to Israel!”

“City of Torah? In the impure land of the Gentiles? At the beginning of Sefer Devarim, Hashem tells the Jews to leave the wilderness and journey on to Eretz Yisrael. Our Sages teach that the Galut is the greatest bitul Torah that exists (Hagigah 5B). The Ramban teaches that the entire essence of the Torah and the observance of the commandments is only in Eretz Yisrael. We only continue to perform the mitzvot in the Diaspora lest we forget them. Making a celebration out of it is a disgrace. Wake up Jews!

THIS IS OUR LAND . . . GOD Gave It To Us!

 Jonathan Pollard addressed the Jerusalem Day celebration at the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva in Jerusalem Monday night.

Pollard told listeners that, "since 1948, we've been making every effort to prove to the world that Jerusalem is our capital."

Pollard lay the blame for the world community refusing to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital in the Israeli government's allowing the opening of foreign embassies on their doing so in the city.

Jonathan Pollard said the Jewish people didn't receive the Land of Israel from the League of Nations, the UN, or US, but that it was given to them by G-d.

Regarding Jerusalem, Pollard stated that the holy city was "not won during a battle in the June of 1967, after which we threw away the victory that G-d gave us" but the rightful inheritance of the Jewish nation.

"The enemy is within our gates," he said stating that whether it's the PA, Hamas, or 'Woke' Biden administration, it's the oldest hatred known to man - that of anti-Semitism that led to the murder of a yeshiva student last week and today's attacks by Hamas in Gaza".

"This is our Land, G-d gave it to us, and if you don't like it, that's OK. We set the rules," he continued, adding, "You may have heard that the US wants to set up a PA embassy in Jerusalem. We can't allow this. If the Americans want to set up a Palestinian embassy in Washington, good luck. That's their business. But not here. Not in Israel. Not in Jerusalem."

Pollard said it was time for Israel to leave the UN, stating that "our presence in the UN is an insult to all our ancestors who gave their lives for this country."

Regarding Arab residents of Jerusalem, Pollard said Israel should give them one week to decide if they want to receive Israeli legal status and that if they don't, they should be stripped of all civil benefits.
