Shalom Pollack: Elections

We thought some things would definitely change after the October 7 massacres.

How could they not?

We thought that after the largest, most brutal act of murder, rape, and humiliation visited upon Jews since the Holocaust, it would jar the souls of every Jew.
We thought.

A few months ago, on Memorial Day, "Progressive" Jews in Israel commemorated the memory of our murdered brothers and sisters, together with the families of the Arab "martyrs" who murdered us.
This has become popular in "enlightened" circles.
After all, who is to judge which pain is greater?
We must never stop feeling others' pain.
Isn't that true Judaism?

If we thought this disease would be cured with the harsh medicine of Oct. 7, we were mistaken.

The progressive "alternate" Memorial commemoration challenged the official, national one

For the oh so, democratic auto-Semites in Israel, there is no longer a democratically elected government  - if it is too Jewish and not "theirs".
It follows that the national, official memorial (or any other) for Oct. 7 is also not legitimate.

We must accept the fact that there truly are no boundaries when it comes to auto-anti-Semitism, whether in NY or Tel Aviv.
It is not going away.
Hopefully they will either do "teshuva" or fully assimilate and leave our people in peace in NY; and at home, do "relocation,"  and let us get on with the job in the Jewish state.

This election touches on many issues, but it comes down to the most crucial and elemental:

Who are we?
Why are we here?
Have we really lost the ability to recognize brother from foe?

I will not recommend who to vote for, because I never get involved in politics.

May the results be a blessing for the Jews and not for our enemies.
