The eminent Rabbi Yehuda Silman—Head of the Rabbinical Court—addressed a gathering of dozens of rabbis at the Bnei Brak home of the generation's leading halachic authority, Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein. Speaking about the campaign waged by the Left and the Attorney General against the ultra-Orthodox community, he stated: "They are openly declaring their desire to dismantle our society. We must all realize that we are fighting to ensure our children and grandchildren continue to observe the Torah and its commandments. They also label us 'parasites' who consume others' budgets; yet, one must understand that while the Ministry of Education’s budget is 100 billion, less than 4 billion goes to the ultra-Orthodox sector—despite us constituting approximately 30% of the student population."
