George Washington and Chanukah (2019 repost) and Rabbi Kessin’s Commentary Linking to Current Politics

 Chanukah (1775) 5537 (repost)

A difficult winter. Terrible cold. We are sitting in Valley Forge and waiting. Why? I don’t know. Perhaps for better days than these. I am the only Jew here. Perhaps there are other Jews among us, but I havenít seen any. We hunger for bread. We have no warm clothing or shoes to protect our feet. Most of the soldiers curse George Washington for going to war against Britain.

There are those who hope for his downfall, but I believe that his cause is just. We must expel Britain from America. She wants to put her hands in everything her eyes see. Although we are suffering here terribly, I am loyal with all my heart to George Washington. More than once I see him at night, passing through the camp, between the rows of sleeping soldiers. He gazes with compassion upon the soldiers who are suffering from the cold. And sometimes he approaches one of the sleeping soldiers and covers him, as a father would cover his son.

There are times when the hunger and the freezing cold torture me to death. But I donít curse General Washington who is fighting for the freedom of America. At moments like this I think of my father in Poland. I think about all that he suffers at the hand of the cruel "Poritz". I remember: I was a child then and I saw my father dancing before the Poritz. What an awful thing to see! My father was wearing the skin of a Polar bear - and danced like a bear before the Poritz and his guests.
What terrible pain! What great shame! My father dancing like a bear - and the "Poritzim" laughing and rejoicing at the sight. I decided then and there that I will never dance like my father before the Poritz. Afterwards, I escaped to America.
And now I am lying in Valley Forge and shivering from cold. They say that Washington is losing and that he can’t win this war. But I don’t believe all that. I lie at night and pray for him.

The first night of Chanukah arrives. On this night, years ago, I left my father ís house. My father gave us this Chanukah menorah and said to me, "My son, when you light the Chanukah candles, they will illuminate the way for you”.

Since then, the Menorah has been like a charm for me. Wherever I go, I take it with me. I didnít know what to do - to light the Chanukah candles here, among the goyim, or not. I decided to wait until they were all asleep, and then I took out my father ís Menorah. I made the Brocha and lit the first candle. I gazed at the light and remembered my parents home. I saw my father dancing like a bear before the Poritz and I saw my mother ís eyes filled with tears. My heart was filled with pain and I burst out crying like a small child. And I decided then in my heart, that for the sake of my father and mother, for my brothers and sisters in Poland. I must help George Washington make America a free country, a land of refuge for my parents and brothers who are subjected to the cruelty of the Poritz.

Suddenly I felt a gentle hand touching my head. I lifted my eyes and it was he - he himself was standing over me and he asked, "Why are you crying, soldier? Are you cold? ".
Pain and compassion were in his voice. I couldn't bear to see him suffer. I jumped up, forgot that I was a soldier standing before a General, and said what came from my heart, like a son speaking to his father:

"General Washington," I said, "I am crying and praying for your victory. And I know that with the help of G-d we will win. Today they are strong, but tomorrow they will fall because justice is with us. We want to be free in this land. We want to build a home here for all those who flee from the hands of "Poritzim", for all who suffer across the ocean. The "Poritzim" will not rule over us! They will fall and you will rise!" General Washington pressed my hand.

"Thank you, soldier," he said. He sat next to me on the ground, in front of the Menorah.
"What is this candlestick?", he asked.

I told him, "I brought it from my father ís house. The Jews all over the world light candles tonight, on Chanukah, the holiday of the great miracle”.

The Chanukah candles lit up Washington ís eyes, and he asked joyfully, "You are a Jew from the nation of Prophets and you say we will be victorious?!”

"Yes sir," I answered with conviction. "We will win just like the Maccabees won, for ourselves and for all those who come here after us to build a new land and new lives.”

The General got up and his face was shining. He shook my hand and disappeared in the darkness.

My faith prevailed. Washington ís victory was complete. The land was quiet. My General became the first President of the United States and I was one of its citizens. I soon forgot the terrible days and nights in Valley Forge. But I kept the memory of that first night of Chanukah in my heart like a precious dream. I did not relate it to anyone because I said to myself: Who will believe me? I was certain that the General forgot it completely. But that was not the case. He didn't forget.

The first night of Chanukah (1776) 5538.

I was sitting in my apartment in New York, on Broome Street, and the Chanukah candles were burning in my window. Suddenly, I heard a knock at my door. I opened the door and was shocked: my General, President George Washington, was standing in the doorway (there himself), in all his glory. "Behold the wonderful candle. The candle of hope of the Jewish People," he proclaimed joyously when he saw the Chanukah candles in my window.

He put his hand on my shoulder and said, "This candle and your beautiful words ignited a light in my heart that night. Soon you will receive a Medal of Honor from the United States of America, together with all of the brave men of Valley Forge. But tonight, please accept this token from me."
He hung a golden medallion on my chest and shook my hand. Tears filled my eyes and I couldnít speak. The President shook my hand again and departed.Ö
I came to, as if from a wonderful dream, then I looked at the medallion and saw an etching of a beautiful Chanukah Menorah. Under it was written: "A token of gratitude for the light of your candle - George Washington”

This is a true story.

Prophecy vs. Covid Vaccine

Well I listened to this recent presentation of Rabbi Mendel Kessin and these are my takeaways:

The three places that Hashem came down to us:  Sneh  Mikdash   First Beis HaMikdash (the model of Beis is the Creation, at that time, likewise the human body)

Our Neshoma is the Beit HaMikdash to experience Hashem

Disease is blockage of divine energy to the organ which then allows the ‘bacteria’ (or whatever) to enter [and cause our disease]

After Mashiach comes, it will be Beit 3 (al pi Yechezkel)  = creation after the tikkun = the reality after Yechezkel and the reality of Mashiach

Shechina = place where Hashem resides, it moved to the Kosel

The Rabbi then spoke about Prophecy and the 7 Sefiros.

Prophecy = able to look into Atzilus (place of Divine secrets)

The Mind = Moach

From the Briyah, the Prophecy of Moshe Rabbeinu, was unique and Moshe was able to see into Atzilus while awake

The other 48 special Prophets were not on this level; and there were thousands (millions) of other prophets. All were enabled prophecy but at varying levels. These prophets went to “classes” to learn how to receive prophecy, because it enabled them to be aware of ’secrets’.

The main takeaway from what I listened to so far (not the questions) is:

THE CORONA PANDEMIC VACCINE INGREDIENTS WERE CREATED TO BLOCK THE MOACH OF MAN = BLOCKING PROPHECY AND THE ABILITY TO LOOK INTO ATZILUS, WHICH IS AN ACTION OF WAR AGAINST HASHEM. Those behind this travesty are trying to control “everything”, humanity and all of life itself.

So far, Hashem is allowing all this to occur, for His purpose(s). We do not know whether these people have gone beyond what they were allowed to do, as some of the other tyrants of history did and were/will be punished, OR they are doing the exact Will of Hashem because we have sinned and need to return to Hashem in order for Hashem to finish bringing the Geulah Shleima. Since this is the month of Elul and we are IY”H preparing for Rosh HaShana, we need to know this and take it with us into our prayers. [please Hashem forgive my impertinence]

CLARIFICATION It is not intended to mean that there are any forces other than HASHEM and what HASHEM allows to happen in our world of Asiyah.

Forces can go beyond what they were intended to inflict on Am Yisrael, in their evilness, and they will be punished severely for this, but even that HaShem allowed and controls.

KEY CONCEPTS IN OUR REDEMPTIVE PROCESS “Geulah” and the “Absolute END"

Rabbi Mendel Kessin is becoming a Great Source B”H for Understanding and IY”H Leading us in this Geulah.

"Adam is allowed to live 930 years and Cain and Abel are given the second chance to fulfill His will. But with the murder of Abel, and even after, mankind continued to sin, so what does G-d do? The Flood was preceded by an earlier one in the generation of Shes during which one third of the planet was destroyed and tzelem elokim—G-d’s image, likeness, was removed and men became apes who are human-like. The difference between a human and an ape is only about 2%. This is contrary to Darwin. Man doesn’t come from monkeys; monkeys come from man

“Ravah says that the mashiach will come at the end of shmita—Sabbatical year which is this year.” 5782

"There is another cycle with [seven] “7” when 7 cycles of 7 years culminate in the 50h year, the yovel—…  Jubilee year: “You will proclaim freedom throughout the land.”

"If the count is correct, this shmita is the 49th year and next year is yovel, that time affiliated with the onset of the messianic era.”

"MBY is already released from whatever has held him back from being mashiach. So, this shmita year could very well be the year of the pekida when he is released.”

"Remember: the curve goes down and down and things get worse and worse and then it stops. We see prikas ohl and then it stops. Then, in a nanosecond, it begins to go up”

"[...] a “supernova” [...] is the force that blows a star up with a power greater than the light in the entire galaxy. It is an unimaginable explosion. And the geula–Redemption is much greater because it is the absolute END.  [excerpts from Rabbi Kessin 8/4/21]

* * *

After listening to these new video compilations (following) of Rabbi Kessin’s thought process, I will attempt to highlight more Key Concepts. But for now, we are watching how Hashem has maneuvered so-called JB into (intentionally) provoking the *world into the next phrase of our Geulah. One should remember that it was DJT that removed most of the US from Afghanistan and sealed an agreement with the Taliban. We are yet to see future ramifications of this outcome and much more.

Rosh Hashana - Evaluation of Your Tikun

The Last Era of This World - How to Survive Through Gog uMagog

*The rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan, not to infer that the Taliban members in Kabul now, are the Taliban–Pashtun (Tribes), and this connection to this:

We are perhaps witnessing events leading to “[…] a mystic[al] 1,500-year-old prophecy that describes the lost ten tribes returning to save Jerusalem just in time for the Messiah.

“In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Shomron. He deported the Israelites to Assyria and settled them in Halah, at the [River] Habor, at the River Gozan, and in the towns of Media.” II Kings 17:6

“And in that day, a great ram’s horn shall be sounded; and the strayed who are in the land of Assyria and the expelled who are in the land of Egypt shall come and worship Hashem on the holy mount, in Yerushalayim." Isaiah 27:13

The 10 Tribes settled in the high mountainess range of northwest Afghanistan, with the Bnei Moshe being hidden behind the Sambatyon River

And consider the efforts of the Vilna Gaon, "A letter sent by the elders and Rabbis of the Ashkenazi community in the Land of Israel to the Bnei Moshe A”H and the ten tribes,"

The Zohar Prophecy on The Temple Mount

I really don’t know what to make of this, but it is worthy of being read, based on Rabbi Nachman Kahana’s insights. Comments appreciated.

TRUMP’S ABRAHAM ACCORDS BRINGS TRUE SONS OF ISHMAEL TO TEMPLE MT AS PROPHESIED IN ZOHAR

The agreement to normalize relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel has raised the unprecedented possibility that in the near future, large numbers of Muslim pilgrims will be coming to pray on the Temple Mount. Ironically, the Israeli government is welcoming them with open arms but the Palestinian religious leadership has already issued a Fatwa (religious ruling) banning Muslims from countries that have signed agreements with Israel from entering the silver-domed al-Aqsa Mosque.

Though essentially an agreement concerning political and economic considerations, the agreement relates directly to the Temple Mount.

“As set forth in the Vision for Peace, all Muslims who come in peace may visit and pray at the Al Aqsa Mosque, and Jerusalem’s other holy sites should remain open for peaceful worshippers of all faiths,” the agreement states.

This is also true of Trump’s “deal of the century” peace plan concerning relations between the Palestinians and Israel.

“People of every faith should be permitted to pray on the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif, in a manner that is fully respectful to their religion, taking into account the times of each religion’s prayers and holidays, as well as other religious factors,” the Peace to Prosperity plan states.

Despite these proclamations, the Palestinian insistence on maintaining a hostile exclusivity at the site is the main obstacle to bringing about the Temple Mount’s prophesied role as a house of prayer for all nations. In a direct and immediate response to the UAE agreement, the Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, issued a Fatwa declaring that Muslim citizens of the UAE will not be permitted to pray at al-Aqsa Mosque.

Dubbed the Abraham Accords, the UAE agreement has Biblical roots as well as end-of-days implications.

Rabbi Nachman Kahana noted that this agreement would bring the Bnei Yishmael (the sons of Ishmael) to Israel, perhaps for the first time.

“The Palestinians are not the real Bnei Yishmael, Rabbi Kahana said. “The Palestinians are the result of all the nations that passed through the Fertile Crescent. With the Bedouins of this region and the true Arabs of the Persian Gulf, there is no mixing of blood. They were separate from the Persian and the Greeks.”

Rabbi Kahana noted that the arrival of the true Bnei Yishmael to the Temple Mount may be a part of the tshuva (repentance process) of Yishmael, citing a verse in Genesis.

His sons Yitzchak and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite, facing Mamre Genesis 25:9

“In this verse, Ishmael should have come first since he is older,” Rabbi Kahana noted, citing the medieval commentator Rashi who interpreted the incongruity in the verse to mean that Ishmael repented in his later years.

“Ishmael realized the spiritual superiority of Isaac and displayed this by allowing him to go first when burying their father,” Rabbi Kahana explained. He noted that this is being played out by the true Bnei Yishmael showing respect for the offspring of Jacob.”

But the arrival of the true Bnei Yishmael to the Temple Mount has end-of-days implications. The Zohar Hadash (Balak 68b) describes a process that will begin in the 274th year of the sixth millennium. This works out to be the year 5774 in the Hebrew calendar which began in September 2013. The Zohar predicts that the “Sons of Ishmael” will make war against the Messiah, and will “come and bow down before God at the holy mountain in Jerusalem”.  The text specifically uses the name of the God of the Jews, and not a generic term or the expression used for non-Jewish worship. This prediction of the Zohar predicts that the Arabs will worship the Jewish God on the Temple Mount and, in fact, that does seem to be what is happening.

The Zohar goes on to say that Edom will rule Israel for 12 months. At the end of 12 months, the world will shake, and during that time, the Shechina(heavenly presence) will return to dwell in the cave of Moses. The Messiah will hide for 9 months – similar to the period of pregnancy – and then the people in Israel will hear a sound like the blowing of a shofar

In fact, the Temple Mount was largely ignored by the Arabs until Israel conquered it in 1967. During the First Crusade, Islam was uninterested in the Dome of the Rock and it was turned into a church while al-Aqsa, with its lead dome, was a modest mosque. In the early 20th century, the attention of the Muslim world was much more focused on the silver dome of al Aqsa than on the Dome of the Rock, which was not covered with gold until 1993, after the Jews began ascending to the Temple Mount. It appears that the Arabs become intensely interested in the site only when the Jews, and their God, are present.

This same prophecy is repeated in other sources, adding that the “Sons of Ishmael” will make war against the Messiah, and will “come and bow down before God at the holy mountain in Jerusalem”.

“But this repentance of Ishmael didn’t last,” Rabbi Kahana warned. “After Isaac died, Ishmael married off his daughter Mahalath to the son of Esav, the enemy of Yisrael. Ishmael’s hatred was rekindled.”

The rabbi noted that Ishmael’s repentance is being played out today and may have the same tragic ending.

“The UAE recognizes the spiritual benefits of relations with Israel,” Rabbi Kahana said.

“This is the form of repentance that Ishmael did but it didn’t have lasting results. In the end, the elements of Ishmael that hate the Children of Israel will unite with Esau. The Arab nations will unite with the evil elements of Esau that are dispersed across Europe and the US in order to attack Israel.”

The Secret to Defeating the Enemy

Devarim 23:

9) When you are encamped against your enemies, distance yourselves from all impurities… 15) For the Lord your God is present in your camp to protect you and to deliver your enemies to you. Your camp must be holy, so that He will not see among you anything indecent and turn away from you.

The following are quotes said by great men of Am Yisrael before going out to battle. Can you make the association?

1

הצילני נא… כי ירא אנכי אתו פן יבוא והכני אם על בנים

Save me, I pray… for I am afraid he will kill me and the mothers with their children

2

אלה ברכב ואלה בסוסים ואנחנו בשם ה’ אלהינו נזכיר:

המה כרעו ונפלו ואנחנו קמנו ונתעודד:

ה’ הושיעה המלך יעננו ביום קראנו:

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.

HaShem, give victory. The king will answer us when we call!

3

You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defiled.

This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I shall behead you and will give the carcasses of the … army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel

4

ויאמר … אל הנער נשא כליו לכה ונעברה אל מצב הערלים האלה אולי יעשה ה’ לנו כי אין לה’ מעצור להושיע ברב או במעט:

And … said to his young armor-bearer, let us go to the positions of these uncircumcised men. Perhaps HaShem will act in our behalf. For nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether from many or from few.

5

חזק ונתחזק בעד עמנו ובעד ערי אלהינו וה’ יעשה הטוב בעיניו:

Let us be brave and for the sake of our nation and the cities of Hashem our Lord and HaShem will do that which is right in His eyes

6

Listen Yisrael. Today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by them.  For the Lord your God will accompany you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.

7

.ואין מעצור לפני שמים להושיע ברבים או במעטים. כי לא ברב חיל ניצחון המלחמה ומן השמים הגבורה”

There is no constraint before HaShem in Heaven to save the many or the few for victory does not depend on the numbers of combatants, but on the heavenly decree

8

ה’ תן בי ענווה תן גבורה ותן בי את חכמת הלב על מנת שאדע להוביל את האנשים הללו באתגרים הניצבים בפנינו“.

HaShem grant me humility, grant me courage and wisdom of the heart so that I shall know how to lead these men in the challenges that await us.

The above Jewish greats were not contemporaries and the names of their enemies were different, but they shared a common understanding that victory is not guaranteed by the number of troops or tanks, but by the courage of the soldiers and the will of HaShem who shall be victorious.

In this matter Brigadier General Ofer Vinter stands shoulder to shoulder with our father Ya’akov and the others. Indeed, there are hundreds of thousands of soldiers in Tzahal for whom fear of the enemy does not exist because in their hearts is the fear of Hashem.

Precursor of the Mashiach

I write this now because of what I believe is the change awaiting the Medina as the precursor of the Mashiach.

The Creator is forever deliberate, purposeful, and intentional; where every blade of grass, grain of sand, and every entity in the universe has a useful purpose. So, for what purpose is the present pandemic serving the people in Eretz Yisrael?

The coronavirus is creating a chaotic situation in the political arena which is filtering down to all walks of life: economy, education, tourism, Torah institutions, etc. And the call for a fourth national election in a year and a half is never far away.

Our secular democratic system of government, as all others, is based on the premise that the source of authority and morality is Man himself. He is the “tree” in the middle of Man’s Garden of Eden. The Knesset is empowered to legislate Shabbat, kashrut, define what is marriage, who can marry and who is a Jew. In fact, every matter of life can be controlled by the 15 members of the Israeli Supreme court, and all but three of the Justices are secular. The time has come for a basic change which will bring us closer to displacing mortal Man and restoring HaShem and His Torah to the center of the “Garden”.

The chaos will by necessity force the military to seize the helm of power in order to restore some semblance of stability to the Medina.

The leverage that the religious segment in the country has over governmental decisions is minimal, whereas the ever-growing number of religious soldiers has a greater influence in the army. In a military government Torah principles will be a more pervasive force in the life of the Medina.

This is the overall schematic plan, in my view:

► Pandemic

► Political paralysis

► Power struggle

► Suspension of democratic institutions

► Charismatic military-religious personality

► Restoration of Halacha as the binding law of the land

► Restoration of the Monarchy and the Sanhedrin

► Yerushalayim and the Bet Hamikdash.

The time frame – ten to twenty years be”h, if not sooner.

Be careful, Be healthy, Be Here!

and for the Jews in America remember: JLMM Jewish lives Matter More

Shabbat Shalom,

UPDATE on Earth Readying For NIBIRU

NASA DISCOVERS ‘DENT’ IN GLOBAL MAGNETIC FIELD:
‘PRESAGE OF NIBIRU’

Breaking News [...] Yuval Ovadia, whose films on Nibiru have garnered hundreds of thousands of views, attributes this recent anomaly in the magnetic pole to the approach of the mega-star and its accompanying constellation. Ovadia suggested that such a pole shift will presage the arrival of Nibiru. He based this on his research into classical Jewish sources. “Scientists would agree that a large astronomical body would create a disturbance in the magnetic field,” Ovadia told Breaking Israel News. “A star of that size would necessarily have its own magnetic field and that would exert an influence on the ferrous fluids.”

“The Midrash states that God initiated the flood in the time of Noah by moving two stars,” Ovadia explained. “This caused a shift in the poles of the world; the north became the south, dry land became oceans, and oceans dried up. Nibiru will shift the magnetic poles back to what they were before Noah. As a result, people will live much longer, for hundreds of years, as it was described in the Bible before Noah.”

Ovadia stated that the Messianic process bringing about this pre-diluvian reality is described in awe-inspiring, even fearsome terms in the Bible but the results will be quite Utopian. “Scientists and Western culture depict earlier eras as much worse,”

Ovadia said. “They try to make people believe that technology is the answer to everything, that more technology means a better life. Messiah is in the future, hopefully, the very near future. But it will have many elements of Biblical times that will be a vast improvement over what we have now; no wars, no disease or famine, and nature will be revived.” “So they are trying to sell the public on global warming, claiming that scientists can fix it by controlling the climate,” Ovadia said. “They don’t really understand climate change and they certainly can’t control the weather. But they don’t want to talk about magnetic shift because they can’t control it and what they know about it is turning out to be wrong.”

Rabbi Kessin on the Extraordinary Aspects of the Redemption Process

21st Century #57 | Extraordinary Aspects of the Redemption Process
EXTRAORDINARY

Rabbi Kessin begins speaking about "Hashem "gathering" us from the ends of Heaven to Him." He explains it in the terms of Kibutz Galios.

Could it actually means something else? Since it is speaking of the End of Days.

I also read about "gathering" in a Torah article I read over Shabbos. But this "gather(ing)" was in relation to "death and dying”.

So I gathered (sic) some of the sources of "gather" from various places in the Torah and propose:

Perhaps this "gathering" of us from the ends of Heaven really relates to the very end of days in the phase of "Techias HaMeisim”? It is explained that in order to proceed to the Seventh Millenium (...culoh Shabbos) there will be a resurrection of neshomas and bodies, and of those who remained alive at this time, they too will experience a "death (a kiss of Hashem) and then an immediate resurrection". Then all of us purified will proceed into the great Seventh (of eternal Shabbos).

The Bible uses terms that seemingly indicate different stages or aspects of death. In particular it makes a distinction between “died” and “gathered.”

"G–d will "gather you" you and "take you" to Himself"

"Aaron shall be gathered to his people" "Aaron is “gathered” and then he also dies"

We are told that Miriam was “gathered” and separately that she died. But the word “gather” in her case is interpreted differently. “And Miriam was shut up without the camp seven days; and the people journeyed not till Miriam was gathered.” "Did Miriam recover and was gathered to join the journey, as commonly interpreted? Or was she “gathered” as part of the process of death?"

Yechezkel (Ezekiel 38:8): "From many days you will be remembered; at the end of the years you will come to a land [whose inhabitants] returned from the sword, gathered from many peoples, upon the mountains of Israel, which had been continually laid waste, but it was liberated from the nations, and they all dwelt securely."

Yearning for Mashiach and Yearning for the Rebuilt Temple

The Sages taught,

"Any generation in which the Temple is not built, it is as if it had been destroyed in their times" (Yerushalmi, Yoma 1a).

The same lack of merit resulting in its destruction has resulted in its not being rebuilt. In fact, the Midrash states a frightening outcome of not yearning for the rebuilding of the Temple, "All the communities that fell, it is only because they didn't inquire after and demand the Beit HaMikdash" (Midrash Socher Tov, Shmuel 31). https://ohr.edu/holidays/tisha_bav/mourning/1088

We can add to the following list the over 70 years we have been allowed back on our Land and the Temple has not been rebuilt. B”H Yerushalayim is being beautified.  And B”H the City of David is being exposed, with its connection to Har HaBayit. We can follow the underground pathways to historical moments in time,

Prophecies of the End Times – Just as Predicted (ivrit)

The fulfillment of the prophecies of the end times:
"Just as the sages predicted thousands of years ago”

Rabbi Doron Lasri in his weekly program "Taste and See" (every Sunday at 12:00, on Channel 2000) referred to what is happening in the people of Israel these days and proves according to Sages sources the fulfillment of the end-time prophecies in our generation step by step: "Truth will be absent "Later, the rabbi asked what would have happened if Pinchas had existed in our generation?" Four Unique Characteristics of the THIRD TEMPLE

By Yehuda Shurpin Chabad.org

In the 25th year of the Babylonian exile, G‑d showed a vision of the future Temple to the prophet Ezekiel.1 Yet the Second Temple was built only partially based on the description in the book of Ezekiel, as this prophetic description was reserved for the Third and final Temple.2

The Midrash tells us that when G‑d commanded Ezekiel to describe the dimensions of the Temple to the Jewish people, Ezekiel asked, “Master of the Universe, why are You telling me to go and tell Israel the form of the House; they are now in exile in the land of our enemies—is there anything they can do about it? Let them be, until they return from the exile. Then I will go and inform them.”

G‑d answered: “Should the construction of My House be ignored because My children are in exile? The study of the design of the Holy Temple as detailed in the Torah can be equated to its actual construction. Go tell them to study the form of the Holy Temple. As a reward for their study and their occupation with it, I will consider it as if they actually built the Holy Temple.”3

Based on the above Midrash, the Lubavitcher Rebbe strongly promoted learning about the building of the Temple, especially during the time of year in which we mourn its destruction.4

Thus, we present an outline of some distinct characteristics of the Third Temple. (Note, however, that Maimonides writes that the design of the Messianic Temple, though mentioned in the Book of Ezekiel, “is not explicit or explained.”5)

It Will Be Big
The Third Temple will be many times larger than the previous two Temples. For example, the area set aside for the Second Temple complex, or what is known as the Temple Mount, was 500 by 500 cubits (each cubit being approximately 18.9 inches). In the Third Temple, it will be 3,000 by 3,000 cubits—i.e., it will be 36 times larger, or 9,000,000 square cubits (approx. 22,325,625 square feet or 512.5 acres)!6

It Will Be Square
The basic division of the Temple into different sections, such as the Kodesh (Holy) and the Kodesh HaKodashim (Holy of Holies), will be the same as in the previous Temples. However, the section called the ezrat nashim in the Second Temple (and “outer courtyard” in Ezekiel’s prophecy) will have a very different layout in the Third Temple. Whereas in the Second Temple this section was a 135-square-cubit area in front of the azarah (the latter is equivalent to the “inner courtyard” in Ezekiel’s prophecy), in the Third Temple this area will be 312 by 317 cubits, and completely surround, almost like a square, the azarah.7

Iron Is In
Iron was not used in the building of the first two Temples, as the verse states: “The House, when it was in building, was built of stone finished at the quarry, and there was neither hammer nor axe (nor) any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.”8 Why? Because iron is used in the fashioning of weapons used to shorten life, and the purpose of the Temple was to “make peace” between man and G‑d, thereby lengthening one’s life. Thus, it is improper to build a life-sustaining structure with a material that is its very antithesis.
However, the Lubavitcher Rebbe explains at length that in the messianic era, when “swords will be beaten into plowshares” and iron will be used only for the positive, this prohibition of using metal in the structure of the Temple will no longer apply.
The use of iron in the Third Temple will not just be a symptom of the peace that will reign, but it is symbolic of the messianic era in general.9
The Hebrew word for iron is ברזל, which the Arizal explains is an acronym for the four wives of Jacob, from whom the Jewish nation is descended: בלהה רחל זלפה לאה.10 This corresponds to the mystics’ explanation that in the era of redemption, women will be on a higher level than men.

We’ll Go There Often
The verse at the end of Isaiah states, “‘It shall be from new moon to new moon and from Sabbath to Sabbath that all flesh shall come to prostrate themselves before Me,’ says the L‑rd.”11 The Midrash explains that although during the eras of the first two Temples the Jews made a pilgrimage to the Temple only three times a year, in the messianic era we will do so every first of the new month. The Midrash goes on to explain that this was impossible to do during the first two Temples, but that in the era of the Third Temple we will have “clouds” that will transport us to Jerusalem and the Temple, enabling us to visit the Holy Temple on a much more frequent basis.12

May the merit of learning about the building of the Temple stand us in good stead, and may we merit the rebuilding of the Third Holy Temple speedily in our days!

The Temple Mount as the “Truma” of Eretz Yisrael – Parashat Va’et’chanan and Tish’a Be’Av

BS”D

Parashat Va’et’chanan Week of Tish’a Be’Av 5780

Rabbi Nachman Kahana

The Temple Mount as the “Truma” of Eretz Yisrael

This Wednesday night is the 9th of Menachem Av (the 9th day of the 11th month of our calendar year Menachem Av, counting from the previous month of Tishrei [Rosh HaShana]- that is our 9-11).  For the 1950th time, we will mourn – in that exquisite unity that binds all Jews – the death of the 600,000 Jews in the desert who turned their backs on Eretz Yisrael and will feel the fresh anguish at the destruction of our two temples and subsequent expulsions into galut.

Notwithstanding the depths of our sorrow, there exists an ongoing reminder that the third Temple will be built and that HaShem will restore our nation to the grandeur that was once Am Yisrael. That reminder is Har Habayit – the Temple Mount – in Yerushalayim.

What makes Har Habayit the eternal repository of sanctity?

The Midrash (Devarim Raba 11,10) teaches that Moshe beseeched HaShem 515 times to be allowed to enter Eretz Yisrael.  This equals the gematria (number equivalent) of the word Va’et’chanan. Moshe did not request a homestead of lush rolling land, nor did he request a palatial home befitting the first king of Israel. He desired to enter the land for one sole purpose, as the Gemara (Sota 14a) says: “Was it to eat of its fruit or find pleasures of the Land that Moshe wished to enter? No! It was for one reason. Moshe prayed for the opportunity to keep mitzvot in Eretz Yisrael.”

It would appear that the Gemara is at odds with the Midrash in describing Moshe’s prayer to HaShem.

The Midrash relates that when HaShem denied Moshe the privilege of entering the Land, Moshe pleaded: “If I cannot enter in a living state, let my body be brought into the land.” HaShem’s answer was no! “Let me enter in the form of an animal so I can tread on the Land.” No! “Then let me enter as a bird without touching the Land.” No”!

Now, if according to the Gemara, Moshe wanted to enter the Land to keep its mitzvot, why would it satisfy him to enter as an animal or a bird?

We must, therefore, conclude that there is a spiritual experience that even an animal or a bird can experience – and that is fulfilling the mitzva of just being present in the land.

If the Land is so holy that even its air space is sanctified (the Zohar says that Eretz Yisrael is directly under the kisay ha’kavod – the Heavenly Throne – and the earthly Yerushalayim is directly under the heavenly Yerushalayim, influencing the spirit of all who are present there), the question arises: How can we live as “normal” human beings, doing the things people must do in order to maintain their personal and national lives? How do we get up in the morning and go to work, deal in commerce and industry, fix our cars when they break, eat, sleep, and attend to our bodily needs? The whole Land should be as the Kodesh HaKodashim (Holy of Holies) of the Temple, if even an animal is stirred by the sanctity of the Land.

I suggest:

Newly grown crops of wheat, grapes, and olives in Eretz Yisrael are designated in the Torah as “tevel,” and no part may be eaten because of their sanctity (all other fruit and vegetables are “tevel” by rabbinic decree). The resultant punishment for this transgression is the termination of one’s life prior to the time allotted to him at birth. The prohibition is annulled by separating the required tithes as stated in the Torah. One of the tithes is “teruma gedola,” which is given to a kohen. The amount of teruma from the Torah is one grain of wheat (or grape or olive) from an entire crop. Not being a farmer, I would give a wild guess that there are millions of grains in a decent-sized wheat crop, which would make the teruma gedola totally insignificant in terms of quantity. Nevertheless, this tithe and the others are the factors determining one’s life expectancy.

We can conclude that this one single grain concentrates in itself the sanctity of the entire crop; because the spiritual world has a different set of physics and chemistry where size, space and numbers are irrelevant.

Thus, I suggest we live normally and function in Eretz Yisrael despite its inherent sanctity.  This is feasible because HaShem has separated a piece of teruma that contains in it the necessary amount of kedusha, rendering the rest of the country kadosh – but less than the status of the Holy of Holies.

That “piece” of teruma is Har Habayit.

The Rambam states that, even in the period when the halachic status of Eretz Yisrael in terms of the agricultural laws was changed by the destruction of the first Temple, the halachic status of the Temple Mount was never altered since the time of King Solomon.  Hence, we may offer up sacrifices even in our times (if we could overcome several halachic obstacles, such as the exact place of the altar and who is an authentic kohen).

The Temple Mount is the holiest site in the Jewish world, and proof of this is what the great Ramban wrote to his son after arriving in Yerushalayim, “Whatever is more holy is more desecrated – Yehuda is more desecrated than the Galil, and Yerushalayim is the most desecrated of all.”

If you are shuddering at the thought of how many “karet” transgressions one performs when ascending the Mount, permit me to fill you in on a little halachic geography.

The Temple Mount is made up of two distinct areas. In the center is solid bedrock, which is surrounded by landfill made by Hordus (Herod) when he turned the Temple Mount from a square into a rectangle. His Bet Hamikdash was 100 amot high (50 meters) – equivalent to a 25-story building. Hordus built it with huge stones, like those in the Kotel.  The sheer weight of the Bet Hamikdash was much too heavy to be held up by landfill. This means that even though we do not know where the exact site is, we do know where it is not; and, therefore, we tread only on the landfill. Indeed, the Kotel is no more than a supporting wall for the landfill to prevent slippage. The only area where karet is punishable is on bedrock in the area of the Temple.  There is no punishment of karet for entering the surrounding Mount even for the most severe types of tuma.

[On a personal note: Were it in my power, I would close off the Kotel and hang a big sign on it saying, “All this because of sin’at chinam (unjustified hatred),” and then direct the people to Har Habayit.]

In the reality of our contemporary religious, geopolitical and military situation, whoever controls the Temple Mount controls Eretz Yisrael emotionally and religiously – and his G-d is victorious. It is clear that religious emotions are the dominant factors here in the Middle East.

On the human, practical level, the reality on the Temple Mount will be decided by numbers. If in the past very few Jews ascended the Mount in a year, the numbers are now in the tens of thousands. Things will change when the numbers will be in the hundreds of thousands. At that time, the pressure from the population will force the changes necessary to remove the abominations which are presently there.

The Haredi segment will join and even lead the great numbers, as they are beginning to see that the halachic decisions of the Dati-Leumi rabbis are the ones which are pertinent for our generation.

The most important mitzva in our time is the one that Jews “tread on with their heels” (Parashat Aikev) – to ascend the Temple Mount and declare that here we will build the third Bet Hamikdash.

It is enlightening to recall the words of our leaders at the time the second Bet Hamikdash was being built, as recorded in the book of Ezra chapter 4:

1: When the enemies of Judah and Benjamin (Samaritans and others) heard that the exiles were building a temple for the Lord, the G-d of Israel,

2: they came to Zerubbabel and to the heads of the families and said, “Let us help you build because, like you, we seek your G-d and have been sacrificing to Him since the time of Esarhaddon King of Assyria, who brought us here.”

3: But Zerubbabel, Joshua and the other heads of the families of Israel answered, “You have no part with us in building a temple to our G-d. We alone will build it for the Lord, the G-d of Israel…

When the time comes (may it be soon) for us to rebuild the Bet Hamikdash, the nations will offer the Medina “foreign aid” to be partners in HaShem’s new world. And we shall say to them, as did our fathers, “You have no part with us in building a temple to our G-d. We alone will build it for the Lord, the G-d of Israel.”

This Tish’a be’Av will mark the 1950th year since the destruction of the Second Temple, by the cursed Romans in the year 70 C.E.

Look around.  Do you see any descendants of the ancient Romans, or for that matter, a descendant of any of our long-lost enemies? And with just a little patience, we will not be able to find a descendant of any of our latter-day enemies.

So, for now, we will have to weep for what was and contend with our increasing anxieties stemming from the realities of our present-day challenges, but never taking our eyes off the three Bs:

B careful  B healthy  B here

…and its corollary JLMM – Jewish Lives Mean More

Have a meaningful fast and Shabbat Shalom,
