Electroporation, DNA Vaccines and 5G Pulsing

Do Pulse Emitting 5G and Pulsating Smart Meters contribute to the Corona Virus (if it is a virus)?

Two clinical trials (for corona vaccines) are in process in the United States. One underway in Seattle uses two doses injected into the bloodstream while a second, being performed in Kansas City and Philadelphia, merely pricks the skin and is followed by a small electric shock to help the chemicals penetrate deeper into the body. Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine are applying to the Food and Drug Administration to put a third potential vaccine into clinical trials soon. WashingtonPost

What you always needed to know about electroporation based DNA vaccines (Excerts from a NIH Abstract):

Electroporation: Basic concepts
The principle behind electroporation is strikingly simple; by applying an electric field that surpasses the electrical capacitance of the cell membrane, cells may be rendered transiently permeabilized due to entrance of water into the membrane and formation of hydrophilic permeation structures […]

Gene electrotransfer in general
Gene electrotransfer or electroporation assisted gene transfection is the combination of electric pulses with injection of a gene, often naked plasmid DNA. The response of the gene transfection is dependent on the plasmid injected and the purpose of the treatment; hence two main purposes for gene electrotransfer exist namely gene therapy and DNA vaccination. […]

Gene electrotransfer to skin
The skin is the largest organ in the body and there are many future possibilities for gene therapy delivered through that organ, summarized in Figure 3.37 Many of these are being explored both in the preclinical and the clinical setting. Due to the presence of antigen presenting cells, the skin is an obvious target for DNA vaccinations and electroporation is a safe and efficient means for improving the antigen response. […]

Future Perspectives
It has been stated, and reasonably so, that DNA vaccines are one of the future technologies for vaccination. As well electroporation will likely have an important role as a technology to boost DNA vaccine efficacy. Important progress has been made, but at the same time it is a reasonable assumption that further optimization of DNA injection, pulse configuration and electrode geometry may further improve efficacy and at the same time decrease variability. Link Between 5G Implementation and COVID-19 Hotspots?

During a March 12, 2020, lecture at the Health and Human Rights Summit in Tucson, Arizona, Dr. Thomas Cowan likely stunned the audience by bringing up a potential connection between 5G and COVID-19.

By and large, many of the areas hardest hit by COVID-19 have recently implemented 5G which, at least theoretically, might render residents more prone to serious infection by lowering their immune function.

Cowan also presents the theory that COVID-19 and other influenza epidemics are not transmitted from person to person but, rather, are the result of cellular toxicity, including but not limited to EMF-induced cellular toxicity.

To be clear, I’m not saying 5G spreads the infection or is a vector of infection. But by lowering your natural immune defenses and causing chronic inflammation, it is likely impairing your innate immune system’s ability to fight off the coronavirus. Naturally, this increased susceptibility to illness would apply to all disease, both acute and chronic, and would not be limited to COVID-19.

Exaggerated EMF exposure may well be a hidden variable that could be contributing to the reason why so many people get sick in particular areas. Intense EMF exposure could be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel’s back, meaning the factor that breaks the immune system.
  • “[Cowan] is a top-notch doctor, he’s on the cutting edge,” Hoyer says. “In that video, he talks about Wuhan as one of the testing grounds for 5G, where 5G was first implemented in China. And what’s interesting about Italy … is that Milan — the Lombardi area of Italy where two-thirds of the cases are — is considered the 5G capital of the European Union according to Vodafone, which is the big 5G carrier out there …
  • If you go on Vodafone’s website, you can see the 5G map, and it’s sprinkled throughout all Milan and Lombardi, that province up there. So that is definitely a more concentrated area. On top of that, you have all of the older population in Italy, and people that are likely fully buying into the Western medicine and are on [multiple] medications — those sorts of things.
  • The way that all of those medications are interacting, combined with the 5G stress and the electromagnetic stress, I think it’s no wonder everyone’s immune system is suppressed and they’re so susceptible. It’s the terrain that’s the problem, the environmental stress.
  • We can actually kind of control that ourselves. Getting off of our phones and working to shield our environment will help to strengthen our immune system. Then taking some … supplements can take to help boost your immune system …
  • So, there’s 5G in Milan, in Wuhan, and New York City is one of the highest, most intense [5G] areas I’ve seen, and Seattle … But 5G doesn’t matter so much to me. It’s about the intensity of the EMF. New York was basically as intense as a 5G area already, before 5G was implemented, in my opinion. It maxes out all of our meters wherever I go. There are hidden antennas everywhere in New York City.
  • [Seattle] has a lot of hills in the city, and right on Queen Anne, there are two huge radio towers with probably 100 antennas on them, just blasting the whole city. We’ve had assessments there where we’ve maxed out [our meters], and even shielded rooms upstairs and it still maxed out.
  • So, we have to do a complete covering of the floor, the ceiling and the walls, and be really strict about how we’re doing the shielding over the windows so that everything is sealed almost perfectly, like a true perfect Faraday cage. In most homes we don’t have to do an absolutely perfect Faraday cage, with all the electrical connections and no gaps whatsoever. We can still dial it down to where the levels are low enough.
  • But in places where it’s really intense, we have to use different strategies in order to make it so that there’s absolutely no gaps … The exponential pressure of all that EMF radiation that can leak in through a tiny hole is really important in those more saturated areas …
  • Some people watching this will be like, ‘Oh, EMF is the cause of everything.’ That’s not what I’m saying at all. But it definitely weakens our immune systems. Martin Pall’s research shows one mechanism for how that happens and … we know how electric the body is.
  • I mean, the heart communicates with the brain through an *electromagnetic pulse, that’s been proven with the HeartMath studies … You can [find] fascinating articles on there about how we physiologically depend on different voltage changes in order for our body to function optimally.
  • Just to think that there are people out there that believe this environment we’ve created does not affect us — it’s insane when you start to read some of these studies about how our body uses voltage to heal and to function.”

Rabbi Kessin — The Divine Agenda

Rabbi Kessin shlit”a, should be safe and well, connects the events of Egypt and how the Coronavirus mirrors aspects of our first redemption. This is a unique perspective that only our esteemed Rabbi can give us.

Example:  The Rabbi compares the asphyxiation that occurs in drowning (Noach and the Flood) to the struggle of COVID-19 patients to breathe, and the need for oxygen. There are other comparisons.

Parshas Tazria-Metzora – Over the Garden Wall (the Forerunner of Great Events)

OVER THE GARDEN WALL
By Roy S. Neuberger

I am writing from Yerushalayim. A few weeks ago, when it was still permitted to daven outdoors, I was fortunate enough to be over a garden wall from a minyan. I was davening alone (my shul had shut down), but I could hear the sounds of prayer right over the wall. It was amazing to answer“Amen, y’hai Shmai rabbo,” “kadosh, kadosh, kadosh” and to hear the kohanim duchenin from behind the wall! And I thought of a possuk.

“Oh, My beloved, dwelling in far-flung gardens, your fellows, the angels, hearken to your voice of Torah and prayer. Let Me hear it, that they may then sanctify Me.” (Shir Hashirim 8:13) We just read these words onShabbos Chol ha Moed Pesach, when our love for the Ribono shel Olam is especially kindled and we are painfully aware of our separation.

My friends, Hashem is listening to us over the garden wall. He is hearing everything we say, everything we think and feel. The worse it gets, the greater the Geula will be: “l’fum tzara agra … in proportion to the tzar is the reward.” (Pirkei Avos 5:26).

I do not know whether, when you read these words, the current plague will be abating or continuing to rage, but this test we are undergoing is certainly the forerunner to great events.

We read on Shvii shel Pesach, “And the earth quaked and roared, the foundation of the heavens shook; they trembled when His wrath flared.” (II Shmuel 22:8)

Mitzraim was destroyed so that our ancestors could be freed to ascend to Har Sinai. It is not easy. We tend to long for what we regard as the “good old days,” when life seemed simpler, like the Children of Israel in themidbar, longing for the days in Mitzraim, as it says, “We remember the fish that we ate in Mitzraim free of charge; the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic.” (Bamidbar 11:5).

But we are on the path of Torah. As difficult as it may be to travel through this midbar, there is little doubt that the same process our ancestors went through must take place before we reach the Promised Land. We have to let go of what we were used to in order to arrive at the new world which lies ahead.

It is not easy to believe that the mann will fall tomorrow and Miriam’s well will continue to supply us with water. We were all raised in the culture of Edom, but it seems as if that is fading into the past. This is today’s nisayon

The world is shaking and the rope to which we cling is flailing violently, but Hashem is listening over the garden wall. “Flee, my Beloved, from our common exile and be like a gazelle or a young hart in Your swiftness to redeem and rest Your Presence among us on the fragrant Mount Moriah, site of Your Temple.” (Shir ha Shirim 8:14)

A new world is dawning. “And Yehoshua said to the people, ‘Prepare yourselves, for tomorrow Hashem will do wonders in your midst!” (Yehoshua 3:5; Haftaras Pesach First Day)

Rabbi Winston - Parshas Tazria-Metzora and “biddud–isolation"

But, if the kohen looks at it, and there is no white hair in the baheres, and it is not lower than the skin and it is dim, the kohen shall quarantine him for seven days.
(Vayikra 13:26)

IT CONTINUES TO be ironic how the parshios have something to say about the current situation, perhaps this one more than others. These parshios are the only ones that discuss the halachos that lead to “biddud—isolation.” It is the technical word used for quarantine here in Israel, and the one the Torah uses for the person who gets tzara’as, physical leprosy for spiritual reasons.

As Rashi later explains, isolation of the metzora was measure-for-measure. For distancing others from one another through loshon hara—derogatory speech—the metzora was socially-distanced from others by going into isolation. It was supposed to make them personally feel the impact of their words and cause them to do teshuva.

Of course, such laws would not work today, unless the Bais Din also denied the metzora all access to social media. Today you can go into your own closest and still attack others via the social media network, as long as you have an Internet connection or good phone reception. To REALLY be in biddud today, a person would have to leave behind all of that, or at least greatly limit it to official business alone.

There’s another aspect of biddud as well, at least for the Torah Jew, that not too many are considering. Personally, I missed it until now, focusing only on my inability to be part of a minyan, and not so much on the place in which the minyan was occurring, in a SHUL. Perhaps that is one of the reasons why we have lost access to it.

The Talmud states that since the destruction of the Temple, the “shul” has become somewhat of a minuscule replacement for it. There is no ACTUAL replacement for the Temple, but we need something in the meantime, to keep us connected to the idea of one. That has been the Beis Knesses, the synagogue, the shul, so that when we finally DO get our Temple back, it should be quickly in our time, we’ll still be familiar with the idea of a place that G–D “inhabits.”

Of course, most shul-going people are aware of the necessary decorum of a such a holy place, though they may forget themselves from time-to-time. It’s difficult enough to hold G–D in your mind while praying. Holding Him there even during non-prayer times is even MORE difficult for many.

Besides, is G–D REALLY there? Isn’t the whole idea just a “zecher,” something we do to remember what it once was like? Everyone knows we’re living in a time of “hester panim.” The Shechinah long ago withdrew to higher planes of existence. What aspect of G–D’s Presence is LEFT, to give shuls such an elevated status, that we should treat them like the miniature temples they’re meant to be?

We could get Kabbalistic at this point and blow away the whole concept of space and time, but that would get intellectually messy. Besides, the point can be made in simpler terms, and that’s good enough for this discussion.

There is something in Kabbalah called a “roshem.” Basically, the word means “impression,” as in, the person made a good impression on others. Kabbalah teaches that when it comes to things of holiness, these always leave some kind of holy impression wherever they go. So, yes, if you doven mincha at the bus station or at an airport, even without a minyan, the kedushah—holiness—you created while there remains after you have left. Anyone who walks through it will get a burst of holiness, the amount depending upon how much was created in the first place.

This is a fascinating concept with a lot of corollaries. But the main point is that once there is kedushah in a particular place, it can never really leave that place completely, even if its source has. Therefore, even if G–D has withdrawn from the lower levels of Creation, His roshem remains behind ALWAYS where He was.

But there is more, and the Talmud alludes to this. When it says that a shul is a “Mikdash Miat,” a miniature Temple, it is not speaking figuratively only. It is saying that every time a shul opens up anywhere in the world for the right reasons, it is endowed with some of that roshem. It is imbued with some Temple holiness…which is why it is SO important to maintain the sanctity of the place.

It is also why the Talmud says that in the Messianic Era, the shuls will fly to Eretz Yisroel from all over the world. It is their Temple sanctity that makes them relevant to Eretz Yisroel, but ONLY if it was a place that the Shechinah could inhabit. If people did not conduct themselves in the “shul” as necessary to host the Shechinah, then it will never have received its holiness or connection to the Messianic Era.

I never really thought much about any of this, until now. At first I thought that it was the minyan itself that I missed, which I do. But that wasn’t what carried me. If anything, it often frustrated me, going faster than I wanted to go.

Rather, it is the Shechinah that carries each of us who come to its place of “residence” to pray or for any other holy activity. Walk through the doors of an official shul, even if in someone’s basement, and you are welcomed by the Shechinah itself (Brochos 9b). Then as you pray it prays with you, strengthening you, allowing you to draw on it as a source of spiritual energy if you make the effort to put yourself into your tefillah.

Perhaps this is a major part of the biddud of the Metzora. Would you speak loshon hara if you knew G–D was listening in? Of course not. But then again, isn’t He ALWAYS listening in? Of course He is. Then how did you speak loshon hara? Because you forgot that He was there alongside you the entire time, since His glory fills the entire world at ALL times.

So the Torah says, since the loshon hara speaker acted “alone,” he has to live alone. And as most of us have learned over the last few weeks, it’s when you are most alone that you most feel the Presence of G–D. There’s nothing else TO feel, because there is nothing else to distract us away from the Presence of G–D.

There is more. Tzara’as was an affliction of the skin, because that is what changed as a result of the loshon hara of the snake back in the Garden of Eden. Adam’s skin went from spiritual light to physical skin, and the world became more material as a result. He had acted as if G–D wasn’t there, and his change of skin was the result. The speaker of loshon hara acts as if G–D isn’t there, and gets a skin affliction as their consequence.

It is a message to take to heart at this time of “biddud” without even getting into what might be the measure-for-measure of this current pandemic, which is questionable. But we do know one consequence: solitary confinement and social distancing. It may not only be about the wronging of other people as much as people acting as if G–D doesn’t exist, or doesn’t care about what they do. He does. And He’s EVERYWHERE at ALL times.

We’re going to find this out sooner or later. If sooner, then things just might get better. If later, then expect things to…

CDC Director Warns Second Wave Of Coronavirus Is Likely To Be Even More Devastating

“ “There’s a possibility that the assault of the virus on our nation next winter will actually be even more difficult than the one we just went through,” CDC Director Robert Redfield said in a story published Tuesday. “And when I’ve said this to others, they kind of put their head back, they don’t understand what I mean.”
BEWARE:  DO NOT TAKE THE FLU SHOT
“We’re going to have the flu epidemic and the coronavirus epidemic at the same time,” he added, predicting a dual assault on the health care system. While there are shots to help prevent the flue and drugs to help treat it — unlike with the novel coronavirus, which still has no approved treatment or vaccine — it remains a deadly infection.

SO FAR MANY HAVE SURVIVED WITH HYDROXYCHLORAQUINE
In Africa, where this HCQ was used against malaria showed NO CV cases

The flu season has been underway since September, and while flu activity now is considered low, the season has seen a high number of hospitalizations and infections, killing at least 168 children, according to the CDC. Last year, the flu killed at least 34,200 Americans, according to the CDC, and made an estimated 35.5 million people sick.

Do They Know Something . . .  30 More Mutations!

A new study carried out by researchers at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, finds that COVID-19 has mutated into at least 30 different variations, and that the ability of the novel coronavirus to mutate has been underestimated. The study, which was led by Professor Li Lanjuan and published on the website medRxiv.org on Sunday, analyzed the strains of the coronavirus that had infected 11 patients from Hangzhou, where there are at least 1,264 reported cases of the illness.

Researchers found that there were many more mutations within the small sample pool than had previously been reported. Within the sample, officials detected more than 30 mutations, around 60% of which were new.  sputnik news

Rabbis Want Yeshivos and Schools Open

Two of the most senior ultra-Orthodox rabbis in Israel on Tuesday published a joint statement in which they warned that if the government fails to soon find a way to relax coronavirus restrictions and reopen yeshivas, they will consider taking “drastic steps.”
[see below about testing]
[. . .] The *warning comes following several sometimes violent demonstrations among Haredi communities against the coronavirus restrictions that saw synagogues, schools and yeshivas closed and prayer quorums banned. There has also been widespread anger after strict closures were imposed on the mainly ultra-Orthodox city of Bnei Brak and Jerusalem neighborhoods, which were the worst affected by the virus.

Under the latest guidelines Jerusalem and Bnei Brak residents will now be under the same restrictions as the rest of the country, which keep them within 100 meters of their homes, with exceptions for purchasing food and supplies, exercising and going to work. People are also allowed to go 500 meters beyond their own homes or workplaces for prayer.

I’m coming to the conclusion that there is NO REASON to keep Yeshivos and Schools closed.  The more they test it is obvious that they will find more people that have or had the virus. Most people do not die, they suffer very similarly to how they suffer with the flu.
Allowing “Natural Herd Immunity” is the only way to stop the virus, while keeping the most vulnerable isolated at their home (and not in “hotels”).  Once Herd Immunity is achieved, the big question is what will happen to the “most vulnerable” once they venture out into society?

The conspiracy theories are very much alive and well.

TESTING POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE?
IS THE FOLLOWING WHY THE TESTING RESULTS OF “POSITIVE" FOUND
IN RELIGIOUS NEIGHBORHOODS IS ALWAYS SO HIGH?

Lab numbers can be manipulated to increase “positive” or “negative”.
[the following is excerpted from a very long article, to catch the point]

[. . .] “What is the relationship between the spread of testing and the “spread” of a new virus? How do we know what we are experiencing, in comparison to what we are assuming we are experiencing? One study in Austria found that increased testing correlated with, no surprise, increased “cases.”

“In an email discussion between a group of international scientists, academics and MD’s, the question was posed whether the daily number of new cases would track with the daily number of tests.

“Yes, they do,” wrote Austrian MD Christian Fiala. “Here are the data from Austria. In other words if they want to further increase the number of ‘infected‘ people, they have to also increase the number of tests. However, that is physically impossible.[...]

[The following excerpt is from an interview *article uncoverdc.com with a scientist:]

“We used to joke that you could rid yourself of an "HIV diagnosis" by flying from either the US or Australia, to Africa. But for many years, "AIDS" in Africa was diagnosed without any tests whatsoever. Just a short list of symptoms that tracked precisely with symptoms of most tropical diseases, such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath. [sound familiar?]

“David, in his quiet Canadian way, dropped a bombshell in his next statement:

"I think if a country said, "You know, we need to end this epidemic," They could quietly send around a memo saying: "We shouldn't be having the cutoff at 37. If we put it at 32, the number of positive tests drops dramatically. If it's still not enough, well, you know, 30 or 28 or something like that. So, you can control the sensitivity."

“Yes, you read that right. Labs can manipulate how many "cases' of Covid-19 their country has. Is this how the Chinese made their case load vanish all of a sudden?

"Another reason we know this is bogus," Crowe continued, "is from a remarkable series of graphs published by some people from Singapore in JAMA. These graphs were published in the supplementary information, which is an indication that nobody's supposed to read them. And I think the authors probably just threw them in because they were interesting graphs, but they didn't realize what was in them. So, they were 18 graphs of 18 different people. And at this hospital in Singapore, they did daily coronavirus tests and they grasped the number of PCR cycles necessary to detect fluorescence. Or if they couldn't detect florescence by…37 cycles, they put a dot on the bottom of the graph, signifying a negative."

"So, in this group of 18 people, the majority of people went from positive, which is normally read as "infected," to negative, which is normally read as "uninfected" back to positive–infected again. So how do you interpret this? How do you have a test if a test act is actually, you know, 100% positive for detecting infection, then the negative results must've been wrong? And so, one way to solve that is to move the point from 37 to say 36 or 38. You can move this, this cycle of numbers. It's an arbitrary division up or down. But there's no guarantee that if you did that, you wouldn't still have the same thing. It would just, instead of going from, from 36 to undetectable and back to 36 or back to 45, it might go from 33 to undetectable to 30 or something like that. Right? So, you can't solve the problem by changing this arbitrary binary division. And so basically this says that the test is NOT detecting infection.

Because if it was, like if you're infected, and then you're uninfected, and you're in a hospital with the best anti-infective precautions in the world, how did you get re-infected? And if you cured the infection, why didn't you have antibodies to stop you getting re-infected? So, there's no explanation within the mainstream that can explain these results. That's why I think they're so important."

“I couldn't believe my ears. And yet I could. Have you ever tried to read the package insert for a "Corona" PCR test? You begin to feel after a while that the technobabble is some kind of spell, or bad dream. An alien language from another dimension, that could not possibly-whatever else it may do-help a single human being have a better life. It's not "English." I don't know what it is. [...]

Police at it Again . . . Jump On Recovered Toldos Aharon COVID-19 Patient

It’s absolutely crazy what’s going on here.”

R’ Eliezer Samet, a Toldos Aharon chassid, who recovered from the coronavirus and tested negative twice for the virus, was suddenly pounced on by two police officers and arrested on Rechov Malchei Yisrael in Geulah on Tuesday morning on the mistaken assumption that he was an active coronavirus patient who was supposed to be in quarantine.

Samet was one of the first people in Jerusalem who was diagnosed with the virus and has fully recovered. He was walking on Malchei Yisrael on Tuesday with his wife on his way to visit his father.

According to a report by B’Chadrei Chareidim, the police ignored R’ Samet when he explained that he had already recovered. R’ Samet then said: “If you’re going to arrest me, at least do it quietly. Don’t humiliate me on the street. Let’s go to the side.” But the policemen insisted on arresting him in the middle of the street. Only after much effort and the intervention of askanaim were he and his wife released.

His family members are furious, telling B’Chadrei: “They were even already called this week to donate blood at Hadassah Ein Kerem [for the antibodies in the plasma to be used to treat coronavirus patients.] What’s happening here is that the right hand isn’t aware of what the left hand is doing – an outrageous lack of coordination.”

“What’s happening here is that people don’t want to be tested due to this.” [Because if they test positive for the virus they will be tracked by the police and can be fined NIS 5,000 if found outside before they receive two negative tests for the virus. The tests are often delayed and the process can take weeks. R’ Samat was unfortunately not the first person that the police mistakenly believed was violating quarantine].

“And even when he was detained at the police station, they called him to ask when he’s coming to donate blood for the antibodies. It’s absolutely crazy what’s going on here.”

The Good Work of the Politzia in Meah Shearim

Stills from a Twitter video

QUITE THE OPPOSITE OF HOW THEY TREAT OUR ENEMY ARABS sheepishly with kid gloves:

The following clip portrays an outrageous example of police brutality against an innocent Jew in a tallis who is knocked to the ground for no reason. Worse still, the other police nearby make no effort to help the man get up. The Police Spokesman responded quickly, stating that “this was irregular behavior which is unacceptable and in total contrast to norms of behavior expected from every policeman. The case is being investigated by Internal Investigations and in accordance with their conclusions the appropriate steps will be taken against the policemen involved.

True Jewish Brotherly Love – Eli Beer Returns Home

United Hatzalah's President and Founder Eli Beer landed in Israel a short time ago and met with his family and the heads of the organization whom he hadn't seen for three months.

As soon as he landed, Beer said: "I am happy to be back in Israel among my immediate family and my extended family of 6,000 first response volunteers of United Hatzalah."

Beer then proceeded to say the Shema on the tarmac before he boarded one of the organization's ambulances and was met with an honor guard of some 150 first response vehicles from the organization outside of the airport.

Eli was flown back to Israel on the private jet of Dr. Miriam Adelson and was cared for by a special health team including a doctor and paramedic from United Hatzalah.

Sunshine and Fresh Air Recommended for the Elderly in Nursing Homes

The elderly patients in “Nursing Homes” should be taken out into the FRESH AIR daily in the morning, and into the SUNSHINE in the afternoon for a prescribed time. “Health authorities” should incorporate this as a “TREATMENT”.

Open-Air Treatment During the “Spanish Flu” Pandemic
by Rishma Parpia at thevaccinereaction

Almost exactly a century ago, a new H1N1 influenza A strain known as the “Spanish flu” caused a global pandemic.1 Although there is no consensus regarding the origin of the novel influenza virus, it appeared suddenly and spread globally between 1918 and 1919.2 Estimates of the exact number of deaths caused by the virus vary according to different sources but it is thought to have infected a third of the world’s population and killed at least 50 million people, making it the deadliest infectious disease pandemic in modern history.3 Morbidity was high ranging from 25 percent to 90 percent and the fatality rate was between one to three percent.1

1918 Pandemic Influenza Overwhelmed Medical Facilities

[…] Since the Spanish flu pandemic occurred during World War I, two of the most affected populations were soldiers living in military barracks and sailors on warships. Due to overcrowding and poor ventilation, soldiers and sailors were at high risk of contracting the influenza virus and other opportunistic infections, such as bronchitis and bacterial pneumonia, that can cause serious complications leading to death.4

When the pandemic reached the east coast of the United States in 1918, the city of Boston, Massachusetts was especially affected.4 With so many people infected with the virus and so many dying within a few weeks, the burden on medical facilities, medical staff and funeral homes was overwhelming. The 1918-1919 influenza pandemic also resulted in significant economic and social disruption.1

Public health authorities in the United States initiated measures that were used to control infectious disease epidemics during medieval times when populations suffered significant loss of life, such as during the Bubonic Plague.5 Their mitigation strategies aimed to reduce the transmission of the virus by preventing physical contact between the infected and the uninfected.

Orders issued by public health officials were based on what was known at the time in terms of understanding of how the influenza virus spread through the air by coughing and sneezing.5 After physicians concluded that the virus was transmitted through the air, efforts to control contagion were organized to prevent those infected from sharing the same air space as the uninfected. Public gatherings and close contact was seen as the primary avenue for quick transmission of the disease.5

U.S. Military Doctor Saves Lives with “Open Air” Treatment

The Massachusetts State Guard established an emergency hospital known as Camp Brooks Open Air Hospital at Corey Hill in Brookline near Boston, where sick sailors were hospitalized.1 4 Major Thomas F. Harrington, the hospital’s medical officer in charge, had studied the history of his patients and observed that sailors were housed in poorly ventilated rooms in the ships prior to hospitalization.1 He recommended that sick sailors be placed in tents to maximize their access to fresh air. In sunny weather, they were taken out of the tents and put into open air.4 Patients were kept warm in their beds at night with hot-water bottles and extra blankets and were fed every few hours.1

A combination of fresh air, sunlight, high standards of hygiene and reusable face masks appear to have substantially reduced deaths among some patients and reduced transmission of infections among medical staff.1

From when the hospital opened on September 9, 1918 until its closure a little more than a month later on October 12, a total of 351 patients were admitted, one third of whom were diagnosed with pneumonia. In total, 36 of the 351 sailors admitted to the hospital died.1

Out of all the hospital’s medical staff that included 15 doctors, 45 nurses and aides, 20 sanitary corps men and 74 sailors acting as orderlies, only six nurses and two orderlies developed influenza.1 In five of these cases, exposure to the virus was reported to have taken place outside the hospital. A few types of medicine were used to relieve the patients’ symptoms and help their recovery but these were considered less important than were regular meals, warmth and lots of fresh air and sunlight.1

Fresh Air and Sunshine Used for Tuberculosis

Dr. Arthur Ransome (1834–1922), a leading investigator on tuberculosis, emphasized the importance of fresh air in the disinfection of rooms occupied by tuberculosis patients and also in the disinfection of patients themselves. He said, “…abundant fresh air, together with sunshine, acts antiseptically upon both the bodies and the clothing of patients, destroying all organic impurities which may emanate from either, and so purifying the air that enters the respiratory organs.”6

Open-air therapy was a treatment that was widely used until 1950 when antibiotics were introduced.6 In addition, during the 1950s, chemotherapy replaced open-air treatment and belief in the therapeutic and germicidal properties of outdoor air diminished.6

[…] Despite opposition to open-air therapy, the surgeon general of the Massachusetts State Guard, Dr. William A. Brooks, was confident that open-air methods were effective in treating patients at the hospital.1 Many medical professionals believed that patients would reap the same benefits if the windows of a conventional hospital ward were open or the patients were put in a hospital “sun parlor.”1

[…] The studies clearly show that vitamin D is, undoubtedly, part of the complex factors which affect the immune response. So, assessing vitamin D status and maintaining optimal serum levels in all aging adults and children, and micronutrients should be regarded as one of the essential factors which improve our health condition overall and also support our fight against diseases.10
CONCLUSION:
  • The 1918 influenza pandemic known as the “Spanish flu” was caused by an H1N1 influenza virus and was the most deadly pandemic of the 20th
  • Open-air treatment was used to treat patients and is believed to have reduced the number of deaths as well as transmission of infection among medical staff.
  • Historically, sunlight and open-air treatment has been used as an effective treatment for depression, war wounds, jaundice, Rickets and more.

80 Year Old Given HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE Recovers from COVID-19

The fact that not more doctors are prescribing Hydroxychloroquine to ANYONE who describes symptoms of COVID-19 is short of malfeasance רשלנות (and should be liable for anyone with COVID-19 who passes away after asking to be treated with HCQ).

"Teen Challenge" Co-Founder Given Hydroxychloroquine,
Recovers from COVID-19 at 80-Years-Old

That the medical profession is derelict in the obvious effects of this inexpensive treatment to save lives is astounding. "Clinical trials” for proven treatment is “time-wasting” and falls under the CDC inimical “philosophy of prolonging”.

HCQ used by millions of people for 50+ years some every day of their life. Used in South Korea, China, France and many other countries around the world. It's a dirt-cheap generic so Big Pharma hates it. Democrats hate it because Trump is pushing it. Started testing HCQ in March and watch as testing drags on through April, May, June and beyond. Saving lives is NOT always the number one priority for many people...How many Lupus patients have come down with COVID-19..have you heard of any? Have you heard of major COVID-19 outbreaks in parts of the world that also have a problem with Malaria? These would be people and areas of the world that use HCQ all the time for many years...

Coronavirus patient regains consciousness after 29 days
45-year-old man wakes up after about a month unconscious and in serious condition with coronavirus.

A 45-year-old man regained consciousness after 29 days in a coma at the Wolfson Medical Center coronavirus ward. He has a preexisting condition which exacerbated his response to the coronavirus.

On March 25, the patient was placed on an ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) machine, which provides prolonged cardiac and respiratory support to patients whose heart and lungs cannot provide enough oxygen to keep them alive. He woke up on Thursday.

The hospital noted that the patient was saved by the dedicated treatment of the team of caretakers led by Dr. Ziv Roseman, Dr. Hagai Dekel and Dr. Arya Soroski. While he was admitted in serious condition, he is now in stable condition and is able to communicate with his wife and the hospital staff.

Aliya Apocalypse IY”H

If there is one thing we know about the post-coronavirus era that connects with the post WWII era, it is that we have no idea what the world will look like.. Who will be the winners? Who will be the losers? We do not know what industries will survive and which won’t, which economies will rise, and which will crumble.

One thing we do know for certain: the
Aliya apocalypse is coming.
by Rabbi Elchanan Poupko arutz sheva

As many have noted, for American Jews, the notion that America is a first-world country, and Israel is some kind of second world country can no longer exist. Sitting in New York hearing the harrowing sounds of ambulances all day and all night, while watching videos of Israelis singing Ma Nishtana from their balconies, can never be erased. The far superior management of the coronavirus outbreak in Israel, while we felt stranded and abandoned by state policies, will never disappear. Haredi Jews in Brooklyn and Rockland County who had seen tens of deaths a day for the past few weeks will never again be able to look down on Israel.

The contrast between the swift and effective action taken in Israel confronting the coronavirus, although it did suffer fatalities - a much lower number proportionately than outside Israel - contrasted with the slow and inadequate actions taken against it in most states in America, highlights the technological, governmental, and medical superiority Israel has been able to exercise in defense of its citizens. This is something everyone considering making Aliya will now have on their minds. This is not true only of Jews in America. It is also true of Jews in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Australia, and more.

Then comes the economic aspect.

We do not know when economies will go back to function. We do know that many aspects of the economy may never come back. Others will be very hard hit. We do know that the world may be facing the greatest economic depression since the 1930s.

For American Jews it’s a simple choice: would you like to stay here to find out what a full-blown economic catastrophe looks like during an unresolved pandemic, with no guarantee for health insurance, not able to afford your children’s education, or would you like to take your chances and go to Israel? In Israel, you are guaranteed almost free healthcare—which has proven itself far superior and more effective—free or low-cost high-quality Jewish education (and low-cost higher education), and effective public policy (albeit with a civic license to complain and insane politics).

It is hard to imagine this will be a difficult choice. Once the airways reopen, and a ravaged world economy emerges, it is likely we will see an Aliya apocalypse. Americans from all walks of life are likely to find the fast track back to Israel.

Another group that is likely to find their way back are Israeli yordim, those who emigrated to other countries. Many of them decided to take a risk and relocate so they could succeed at building a better standard of life in New York, Florida, Berlin, or Los Angeles. When economic opportunities are at a one hundred year low, when they are guaranteed a better healthcare system, when the world is far less globalized than ever before, many of them are likely to jump on the first flight back to Israel available to them. Many have already.

Every day I turn with horror to the various sites to see if there is anyone I know, a family member, a friend, or a known community leader.

Another change we are likely to see in Israeli-Diaspora relations is between the haredi sector and Israel. My heart bleeds as I think of the dozens who died and die every day in Brooklyn, Rockland County, Lakewood, Kiryas Joel, and more. Every day I turn with horror to the various sites to see if there is anyone I know, a family member, a friend, or a known community leader. Sadly, this happens almost every day and I hope is on a downward trend.

Seeing this happen in our community (I see myself as part of this community in many ways) while sister communities in Israel go almost unscathed - and seeing the IDF helping haredim in Bnei Brak with food and transportation to hotels to save the elderly) is going to change attitudes towards Israel. No longer can Israel be viewed as the Nebach subject of pity and America as the benevolent stable one. There is likely to be a reversal of roles which is likely to impact decision making. More haredi and Yeshivish Jews will see Aliya as a sensible and desirable decision.

I vividly recall standing in my home in New York, at the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, getting one of the usual charity calls from Israel. “You know the situation here is very difficult,” was the pitch. I couldn’t even pretend to listen. Hundreds of people were dying in New York and they were asking for sympathy? Thank G-d, they did not need it as much as we do! American Jews will realize that not being the big brother—benevolent uncle Sam—is not much fun.

Earlier this year, Rav Ahron Zalman Leib, one of the two current Satmar Rebbes, came from Brooklyn to Israel, greeted by thousands, donating five million dollars to non-Zionist institutions. There was a subtle message about his arrival. The drones on the way to the airport, the private jets, the fancy motorcades, dashing out cash to supporters, all gave a simple message: American dollars can outdo Zionism. Rabbi Mordechai Berkovitch, a leading figure in the Satmar community in America, said it then outright: “the Zionists bought the Jews of Israel for a few dollars, we are going to get them back with millions of dollars. We are going to fight them face to face.”

If indeed this was a battle between the Brooklyn dollar and the Israeli Shekel, the outcome is not looking great for Brooklyn. Time to begin opting for Jerusalem over a beleaguered Brooklyn.

This symbolism is not just true for Brooklyn. Jews in haredi communities in London, Manchester, and beyond will do the same. It is hard to imagine Jewish communities like Antwerp, Belgium, which are now bracing an 85% coronavirus infection rate, soon forgetting how much better off their cousins in Israel were during this period. Israel will become a far more appealing option than ever before.

Progressive Jews won’t fall far behind either. Especially young ones. Reflecting on my days of hitting the job market during the 2008 recession, I can say with certainty there is nothing exciting about hitting a job market in decline. No matter what you think about Netanyahu, he did not abandon his citizens during the coronavirus outbreak just because they didn’t vote for him. Those who lived in blue states during this outbreak felt, although unjustifiably, abandoned and stranded by the federal government. The possibility of a country with nationalized healthcare, effective public health systems, an economy that is open both to the West and the East, is likely to appeal to many young Jews.

During this coronavirus outbreak, we should be thinking about our friends, family, grandparents, and members of our community. We should be thinking about how to get over this 21st century horror alive and well, care for others, and look out for anyone we can. Israel has done so in a spectacular way. For that reason, Israel should also be preparing for the Aliya Apocalypse. Once the airways are open, many Jews will be saying: this year in Jerusalem. Israel should prepare to embrace them.

A Virtual Tour of Holy Jerusalem

Remember that Hashem has put us in a time of magefa and until Jews “change our ways” conducive to what Hashem wants from us, we must be very careful and not return to the “same old ways”. We must show Hashem that we understand that He is speaking to us and each one, individually, must communicate back to Hashem so He can send us enlightenment to what He expects of us.
