ON FUNDING THE HAREDI EDUCATION SYSTEM - In a surprise demand, the Attorney General to the High Court of Justice: cancel the order freezing the transfer of one billion shekels to Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) education (that was placed in response to a Yesh Atid party petition to the court on stopping funding of non-pubic schools that do not meet the public curriculum - which no law requires).
.. Related: The Ministry of Education announced today to several institutions in the Haredi sector that starting June 30, 2026, the schools' licenses will be canceled. It was also reported that the ministry is considering canceling the institutions' recognition and budgeting starting from the 2025 school year, due to failure to comply with the provisions of the law.
