An unusual walking tour in the Old City

We will begin our tour with Daniel Lurie, of "Ateret Cohanim".

For decades, this organization has been ( very quietly ) redeeming properties in Yerushalayim from non-Jewish hands, bringing young Jewish idealist families who are changing the face of the old city and environs.
Each purchase has its own story of third-party interlocutors, subterfuge, and drama.
One either applauds these demographic changes ( proud  Jews) or denounces them( the rest of the world).

Daniel will guide us through parts of the old city, sharing fascinating information and entering the most famous of all the re properties.

The "Wittenberg house" was the Mediterranean hotel, where Mark Twain stayed in 1867.
In the War of Independence, the Jordanians  expelled all Jews from the Old City, including Jewish residents of  this building
In cooperation with "Ateret Cohanim", Ariel Sharon purchased the building in a high-profile move.

After parting ways with Daniel Lurie, we shall continue to the restored Jewish Quarter, where we will visit highlights of interest.
We will have lunch in the Quarter at eateries of our choice.

We will meet at Jaffa Gate at 10:00  am
We will end our tour at approximately 3:00 pm

A unique, in-depth Hevron experience

The ancient Jewish stones and the beautiful Jewish souls of re-emerging  Old Hevron

Besides the tombs of our Patriarchs and Matriarchs and other famous ancient Jewish sites (  some recently discovered ),  we will meet the idealistic souls who welcome Am Yisrael back to Hevron today.

The residents of recently redeemed Jewish homes ( occupied by Arabs since the expulsion of the ancient Jewish community in the 1929 pogrom) delight in welcoming visitors into their centuries-old homes.

We will have the honor of meeting with the Rosh Yeshiva of  "Shavei Hevron". Hundreds of young men learn Torah in the same building that housed a yeshiva before the pogrom.

Today, once  again, the building and the Quarter rings with the sounds of Torah by young men who are also defenders  of the Land and People

We are invited to lunch with the students.

Meet at the Inbal hotel at 8:30
Return, approximately 4:30
