For years, the media has portrayed Israel's hilltop youth, settlers and pioneering families as extremists, while ignoring the daily reality they face.
After speaking to nearly 300 American Jewish teenagers touring Israel, I was struck by one recurring question: "What about settler violence?" Almost no one asked about the constant jihadist terror, attempted infiltrations, arson attacks, rock-throwing, shootings, agricultural theft, or the indoctrination that fuels violence against Jewish communities. That disconnect reveals just how powerful today's media narrative has become.
In this video, Avi Abelow explain why so many young Jews arrive in Israel already viewing fellow Jews as the problem and why that narrative collapses once you understand the security reality in Judea and Samaria.
Avi Abelow discusses the remarkable decision by District Court Judge Ron Solkin, who challenged the simplistic portrayal of the hilltop communities. In his ruling, he described the daily threats faced by these families and wrote that people living under such conditions cannot be judged "under laboratory conditions, beneath an air conditioner and fluorescent lights." His words highlight the importance of understanding context before rushing to judgment.
This isn't about claiming every action by every individual is justified. It's about recognizing that truth requires context, and that context is too often missing from media coverage about the Jews who live in Judea and Samaria.
The young men and women building communities on Israel's strategic hilltops are continuing the Zionist pioneering tradition that has protected Israel's borders for generations. Whether you agree with every policy or not, understanding their reality is essential before forming an opinion.
Watch, share, and decide for yourself whether you've been shown the full picture.

In my opinion, the Hilltop youth are the best Jews on the face of the earth at this time.
The pioneers at the beginning of Israel's 'statehood' were sometimes the most leftist self-hating Jews but were considered by the typical Jewish populations as the best of the best Jews ever. I understand that this was
their mission on earth for that time and for that purpose, but they were the
forerunners of those who were determined to establish a Torahless country, r'l.
B'H, the time has now come for redemption and for real Jewish leadership.
Yet, today, these young pioneering Jews living by G-D's Laws are shunned,
dismissed and even hated by fellow Jews. What an utter disgrace.
We have the internet with practically all the info in the world but yet never
have so many Jews been this ignorant.
I believe that it might be that one of these Hilltop youths will be the MBY!
Wake up, learn and see truth. The Torah Jew should surely know this.
Now the rest of our people better wake up and learn the difference between
good and evil, truth and lies!
And the most likely candidate at the present is……..Ettinger!!
