Rabbi Weissman: Crucial

Poisoning our air, minds, bodies, and souls

Breathe in some Stardust, celebrate Molech sacrifices, and say Hallel with a bracha

Last week on a bus I overheard a woman on the phone giving siren guidance. If the siren goes up and down, it’s an alert to run to a “safe” room. If it’s a straight sound, that means it’s a ceremonial siren for Yom Hashoah, Yom Hazikaron, or Yom Ha’atzmaut, and no need to worry.

I was tempted to butt in and tell her to just ignore both sirens, but it wasn’t the time and place.

Someone in the neighborhood who generally agrees with me said he differs when it comes to the siren for Yom Hoshoah. That one he stands for because it honors the Jews who died in the Holocaust.

I replied that standing silently does absolutely nothing for the Jews who died in the Holocaust. On the contrary, standing silently at the cynical behest of a regime that actively collaborated with the Nazis, and continues to wage war on us from within, is a desecration of the memory of those who died in the Holocaust. Staying silent is the last thing we should be doing, and it’s meaningless, besides.

Just like saluting a flag is utterly stupid and antithetical to the Torah. It’s a modern version of bowing to an idol.

On that note, it’s time for our annual review of the laws associated with siren observance:

From WorldIsraelNews:

That’s literally the Molech sales pitch. So keep serving up dead Jews on command, and feel virtuous about it.

Meanwhile, from Arutz Sheva:

LOL.

The following, however, is no laughing matter. If you’ve been feeling that the air quality in Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh (and I assume other major population centers) has been horrible lately, and it seems that many people are getting sick from it, the evidence is on your side. Check this out:

https://www.iqair.com/me/israel/jerusalem/bet-shemesh/beit-shemesh-neve-shamir

This explains why the sky in Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem looks the way it does, why the air quality feels as poor as it does, and why so many people are experiencing strange allergies, hoarseness, and other unpleasant reactions. We’re being poisoned. Make sure to sing Hallel with extra fervor this Yom Ha’atzmaut.

Here’s what the air quality data shows:

PM2.5 concentration is currently 2.7 times the World Health Organization annual PM2.5 guideline value.

What is PM2.5?

PM2.5 particles are floating particulate matter in the air measuring 2.5 micrometers in diameter or less. PM2.5 is so small it can be absorbed into the bloodstream upon inhalation. For this reason, it is typically the pollutant posing the greatest health threat.

Where does it come from?

Sources can be emitted from either manmade or natural sources, or created by other pollutants.

Combustion resulting from power plants

Smoke and soot from wildfires and waste burning

Vehicular emissions and combustion from motors

Industrial processes involving chemical reactions between gases (sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and volatile organic compounds)

How does it affect our health?

Short term effects:

Irritation to the eyes, throat, and nose

Irregular heartbeats

Asthma attacks

Coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath

Long term effects:

Premature death

Respiratory illnesses such as bronchitis, asthma, emphysema

Lung tissue damage

Cancer

Heart attack

Stroke

Then there’s this:

Israel was proud to be the world’s laboratory for the Covid shots, and now we get to be unwilling participants in “outdoor solar geoengineering experiments.” What could go wrong if you breathe in some Stardust? It’s safe and effective.

Check out their shady, bare-bones web site, without so much as a name or address associated with this this shady company: www.stardustsolutions.com.

But their site boasts plenty of press coverage in the last few months. Wired called them “A Mysterious Israeli-US Startup”:

The company is led by CEO and cofounder Yanai Yedvab, a former deputy chief scientist at the Israel Atomic Energy Commission, which oversees the country’s clandestine nuclear program…

…Stardust agreed to publish a public website, including providing a copy of Pasztor’s report, and to develop a voluntary code of conduct, he said. That would publicly lay out how they intend to conduct their research and development, including agreeing not to be involved in large-scale implementation, which would instead be under the purview of government agencies. Pasztor expected Stardust to publish this information last September or soon afterward.

For a while, though, no website appeared. “They were going to publish all of that on their website. Now they are delayed,” he said during a conversation in January. “Come on guys, this is getting embarrassing.”

In early February, while Undark was reporting this article, Stardust published a bare-bones website. The site links to Pasztor’s report and lists seven principles, including “prioritizing safety and scientific integrity,” publishing “unfavorable results as well as favorable ones,” and “supporting comprehensive regulation of this emerging field.”

The site doesn’t describe who works for the company, but a statement provided to Undark by Zupnick noted that Stardust has 25 physicists, chemists, and engineers on the team and listed some of the company’s leadership: Yedvab, the CEO; chief product officer Amyad Spector, a physicist and a former employee of the Israeli government’s nuclear research program; and lead scientist Eli Waxman, an astrophysicist at the Weizmann Institute of Science who formerly served as Spector’s academic supervisor.

Sounds totally legit, totally safe and effective, definitely not a government front spraying God-knows-what over us without our consent, let alone our informed consent. It’s not like they have a history of doing that sort of thing, right?

Good thing we live in a democracy, where our leaders are accessible, they prioritize our health and wellbeing, they take our concerns very seriously, and our votes make a big difference on the issues that concern us the most.

Stand silently when they tell you to, then sing Hallel with a bracha, sheep.

Then: They won a war in 6 days.

Now: You get a break for 6 days.
