“Maybe You Really Contracted The Coronavirus?”
Harav Chaim Kanievsky was asked by a Rosh Kollel who returned from abroad if he really had to isolate himself from his family members and Harav Chaim answered: “Maybe you really contracted [the coronavirus]?”
Harav Chaim’s bnei bayis explained that Harav Chaim’s message was that the Health Ministry’s rules should be followed due to the fact that the coronavirus poses a real health risk, Kikar H’Shabbos reported.
Harav Chaim refrained from attending the wedding of his great-granddaughter on Wednesday night, saying that it dangerous for him to go out due to the coronavirus. Harav Chaim danced with the chassan, the grandson of his daughter, Rebbetzin Leah Kolodetsky, in his home instead.
However, Harav Chaim has expressed that the risk of halting the Torah learning of children is more dangerous than the coronavirus and learning should be carried out in small groups. However, chadarim had no choice but to close due to the Health Ministry’s demands. YWN
