A SPIRITUAL UPHEAVAL
Parshas Yisro is notable for the turnabout of the High Priest of Midian who tasted all the avoda zaras in the world at the time, but nevertheless when He Heard what HaShem did for the Israelites in Mitzrayim, taking them out of slavery from the repressive Egypt, and the wonders performed for the Israelites at the Yam Suf; Yisro, came to Moses and converted to the service of HaShem. Yisro had been one of the advisors (with Bilaam and Iyov) to Pharoah, and now after his awakening, he became an advisor to Moshe, and that is why there is a whole Parsha named after Yisro.
Now thousands of years later we are witnessing a startling emigration from the faith of our Fathers, Avraham, Yizchak, and Yaakov. How could it be? Why is it? What do we do now?

The world is witnessing the emigration of Islam's muslims from Syria and surrounding areas and immigrating into the countries of Western Europe. This EMIGRATION phenomenon seems to be affecting the entire world including the Jewish world; a mass movement of ideologies and frame of mind. A spiritual upheaval. We will yet witness the Divine Hand of HaShem in all of this.

*Emigration is the act of leaving one's resident country (or one's resident religion) with the intent to settle elsewhere. Conversely, immigration describes the movement of persons into one country from another. Both are acts of migration across national (or spiritual) boundaries.
