Ticking Toxic Time Bomb

* * * * *
Ooops, I dropped the Light Bulb and it Exploded!

Your friendly local electric supplier, after raising the cost of supplying you electricity, suggests that you use ENERGY STAR-qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs). Because they use less than 25 percent of the electricity standard bulbs use and last 10 times longer. I guess if the bulbs last longer, they need to charge more!?

'GREEN' LIGHT BULBS PACK TOXIC INGREDIENT
  • LiveScience Staff Writer Andrea Thompson.

COMPACT FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULBS (CFLs) are widely touted as environmentally friendly, but they have created a recycling headache for the EPA and local governments. More often than not, their toxic ingredients simply end up in landfills, where the chemicals can leach into soil and water and poison fish and other wildlife.

The bulbs contain mercury and should NOT be tossed in the trash like regular light bulbs.

“They’re very efficient, but once they’re used up they become a ticking toxic time bomb," said Leonard Robinson, chief deputy director of the California Department of Toxic Substances Control. "They need to be CAPTURED (?) and recycled." …

“There’s not a lot of options out there for recycling them,” said Joe Dunlop, a program coordinator for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

As of Feb. 8, 2006, it is actually illegal for California residents to throw CFLs away.

WHAT HAPPENS TO A BROKEN CFL?

If a CFL should break in your home, the EPA recommends the following:

    Before Clean-up: VENTILATE THE ROOM
    1. Have people and pets leave the room, and don't let anyone walk through the breakage area on their way out.
    2. Open a window and leave the room for 15 minutes or more.
    3. Shut off the central forced-air heating/air conditioning system, if you have one.
    Visit for more info.

IF YOUR MEDICINE CABINET THERMOMETER BREAKS: on carpet, curtains, upholstery or other absorbent surfaces, these CONTAMINATED ITEMS SHOULD BE THROWN AWAY in accordance with the disposal means outlined below. Only cut and remove the affected portion of the contaminated carpet for disposal.

This is a public life-saving announcement.
  • LIGHTS OUT! In A Turnabout World

NO MORE ROCKETS!!! NO MORE MISSILES!!

Global Warming and Environmental Concerns are all the rage.
    Here’s the latest:

    LIGHTS OUT!

ON MARCH 29 at 8 PM - 24 global cities will be participating in Earth Hour . This will be the highlight of a major campaign to encourage cities –- for environmental purposes –- to turn off their lights for one hour.

So far, the following cities have signed on [lightsoutamerica.org] :

    Aalborg Aarhus Adelaide Atlanta
    Bangkok Brisbane Canberra CHICAGO Copenhagen
    Dublin Manila Melbourne MONTREAL Odense
    OTTAWA Perth Phoenix San Francisco
Suva and Lautoka Sydney TEL AVIV TORONTO Vancouver

WOW, what a great idea. But I have another GREAT IDEA.

A WORLD MOVEMENT I could join.

NO MORE ROCKETS – NO MORE MISSiLES ON ISRAEL, of course, for environmental purposes... To stop polluting the Middle East skies with all that toxic dust and debris each time a missile lands on people and their homes. Well, since they don't care about Jews, maybe we can get them on the environmental issue?

The Humble Cherry in a Turnabout World

    ***
FDA Wages War on the Humble Cherry

March 29 is the beginning of the 96th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC.
While these vibrant pink and white blossoms appear, behind closed doors the FDA continues to silence those seeking to publicize the science-backed health benefits of Hashem’s foods.

This brings us to the delicious, juicy Cherry! Cherries are loaded with unique antioxidants and phytochemicals that have been shown in well-designed studies to promote health. In particular, anthocyanins (the redness of the cherries) have been known for their anti-inflammatory properties that have given relief to arthritis and gout sufferers.

In 2005 the FDA sent warning letters to 29 cherry companies demanding they stop publicizing studies supporting the cherries’ health benefits.

    IN OTHER WORDS
If a farmer says that cherries help those with arthritis, then a cherry becomes a DRUG, and they must file and gain approval on a New Drug Application. Non-compliance can bring criminal prosecution.

I guess prozac. NSAIDs, viagra, and the other poisons marketed as so-called cures are more wholesome than the humble cherry. The humble cherry grows because Hashem created it that way. No need to search the Amazon Forest and spend millions of dollars and umpteen years to help today’s arthritis and gout sufferers.

    Venahapochu Doubled and Redoubled

A Greater Public Alert to be Heard Around the World –
When the next President is Sworn In –
The following could become the situation for the Jews in America:

“Now there arose a new king … who knew not Yosef. And he said unto his people … Come, let us deal wisely with them ….” And as our Pesach Haggadah states, and the Zohar relates “… and then the back-breaking work began.”

Could this back-breaking work be the method to achieve our final teshuva before the Geula?

Since the VietNam War, morality in the US has been disintegrating, and the mighty efforts of the Founding Fathers of America are being stripped away, one by one.

You might say, “What is this … to me?” [remember the wicked son?]

Barack Hussein Obama has come out in favor of mishkav zachar. We know the other candidate already openly supports this. As a famous radio personality says, Liberalism is a mental disorder.

I believe it is an insult to the Al-mighty to support by voting openly and willingly for the election of those who are tearing a benevolent country into tiny pieces. Our Holy Rabbis from previous generations [I believe] would not advocate supporting leaders who advocate a myriad lack of values which are eroding the Jewish life of our people. Why assist them in destroying Jewish Life in America?

It saddens me immensely to see certain organizations asking the Jewish People to Vote for politicians who represent this disintegration of Jewish Life in America. What was is no more!

    Recently, there was a

Call to “Get Out the Vote” Heard Around the Country – March 4, 2008: A Public Alert to Our Fellow Jews in Our Country, The United States of America. Gedolei Torah of previous generations have already proclaimed that every Jewish person should participate and vote in elections held in our benevolent country… First, it is incumbent on us to be concerned about the interests of our fellow Jews … we have merited to see great accomplishments, etc … .

    To this I say:

Our leaders who are supposed to be endowed with historical vision should be able to see that the America we live in now is not the America that once was moral and upstanding, with religious values that seemingly nourished a wholesome family-life and world-outlook that was conducive as a society for Jews to live in. That is why Hashem put us here.

But the “Get Out the Vote” says to be “concerned for your fellow Jew” (politically) – And I say be concerned for those who are not yet shomer Torah U’Mitzvos, those who are being wounded emotionally by members of Am Yisroel, those who are being rocketed out of their homes in Sderot, those who may lose their homes in Yerushalayim NO MATTER HOW THEY PRACTICE THEIR JUDAISM – they are still Jews in G.od’s Eyes.

It speaks of “accomplishments” we’ve made? I call many of those accomplishments purely an obsession for a level of gashmius that rivals ancient Persia, that is creating inertia among some men in learning [a lack of challenge, a bren, an endearment for the Torah], laxity in Choshen Mishpat, breaches in family purity, adoption of the idolatry of the US $$$, white-collar inmates, bewilderment among the youth across ALL sectors of Am Yisrael, weakening of modesty and family values without the faintest idea what that means! Where are our leaders? The young generations are victims of the blindness of our present leaders and educators. Where have our leaders gone?

“the single greatest ally of the Jewish nation … protecting it from the 70 wolves …”
I’m sorry to disagree, but this nation is helping the 70 nations maintain their status vis-à-vis the umbilical cord attached to the oil rich nations, and are the main protagonist in this Greek tragedy of egging on Israel’s suicidal leaders.

They ask us to have “Hakoras Hatov” - to whom?? What happened to Hashem? We need Hakoras Hatov to our Creator who gave us Chukim & Mishpatim to live by and the Avos to breathe by. That’s true HaKoras Hatov and not lipservice to politicians.

Could it be that the Jews in America have been duped into believing that the U.S. has the best interests of Israel in mind when they deny the self-defense of Jews being lobbed rockets and grads upon their homes, and deny them retribution when their children are murdered. But the murderer’s family can fly flags of death in celebration. Jews have become accomplices [chas v’sholem] in their own decimation. It’s a very skillful adaptation of a Greek tragedy (by a modern titus). The manner in which the US Government compels Israel’s Jews to comply with their own undoing is Venahapochu doubled and redoubled.

“Let no one free himself from that obligation…his individual voice can make no difference…” Contrary to what they mean here, each individual Jew can make a mighty difference by NOT voting for immorality and policies that are unraveling Jewish life in America and in Israel!

“May Hashem guard us and save us” … save us from our own undoing. If you vote against immorality by NOT VOTING FOR THEIR REPRESENTATIVES, “All the nations of the land will see that In G.od We (the Jews) Trust, not in the falling idol of the US Dollar. Let’s put this idol to rest, let’s return to the moderation of the Rambam zt”l.

Making a Kiddush Hashem would be better than relying on any politician or anyone who says voting for immorality is the right way. Politics is unsavory business, and when Jews are involved they usually get muddied. We need to extricate ourselves from the idol of gashmius and return to the modest ways of our forefathers.

It’s only a matter of time …. The World is in Total Chaos

    Dearest Fellow Jews

A Letter from Yerushalayim sent to an frum news blog (www.vosizneias.com)

    Dearest Fellow “Charedi” Jews,

As I sit here in my Yerushalayim apartment, a week has passed since this tragedy has occurred. I cannot help but echo the solemn words of one student at Merkaz Harav, “ Klal Yisroel and Eretz Yisroel have had their hearts ripped out”. This feeling of helplessness and sadness has affected so many of us during the last week. The Jewish people lost eight stars, eight future leaders, and countless generations of our own. But as a “Yeshiva Guy” I feel like I lost something else. I have lost my pride.

Following the heart-wrenching levaya I proceeded to a main thoroughfare in Geulah. The mood had suddenly changed. Only several blocks away from where this massacre occurred, festive Adar music was playing and people were going about their business like any other day. The regular Levaya and Tznius posters were posted on the walls, but something was missing. It was as if everyone had already forgotten about the eight Kedoshim who were slaughtered only hours before.

Teenage boys who were brutally murdered as they sat in the Beis Medrash were
suddenly as anonymous as ever. All of this in a neighborhood where numerous grown men spend countless hours each week protesting and promoting vital matters such as “Mehadrin” buses . Where has all of our Ahavas Yisroel gone? Were these boys any less pure than our own because they wore different colored Yarmulka’s? I’m not suggesting that everybody tear their clothes and prostrate themselves on the floors, but a little respect was due. R’ Elyashiv and the Belzer Rebbe attended the Levaya, where were you?

Isn’t it time that we put all of our petty politics aside and get our priorities in order? Yes, we may represent UTJ, NRP, and Agudah, don’t we all learn from the same Torah? At times it may seem that we are far apart ideologically, but our goals are mostly local. It is at tragic times like these that Klal Yisroel must unite.

    Please!!!!

    Sincerely,

    * * * * *

What's significant is his statement that the weapon used by the 'palestinian' slaughterer of innocent children was given to him by Israeli President Shimon Peres. This is a brief moment of truth leaking out onto the mainstream news. Dozens protest against Peres in France, call to 'eliminate Israel' http://www.jpost.com/headlines

Let it be clearly stated, the weapon used by the US Funded Fatah Terrorist Movement member was provided to the US Backed Fatah Based Palestinian Authority by then Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres at the urging of the US State Department.

It should be noted that since making this blatantly truthful statement, the hero of the

There is NO JERUSALEM Without the Holy Temple!

    .
How does it go … Nero [Olmert] fiddles while Rome [Israel] Burns [Divides] !

“There is no Jerusalem without the Holy Temple, … It is impossible to speak about Jerusalem without mentioning even once the Holy Temple.”

The Jerusalem Conference held a discussion on Jerusalem’s future:
    INNews [portions with my editorializing]

One Voice speaking Reality: Journalist Nadav Shragai

JERUSALEM SUBURBS TO BECOME LIKE SDEROT

“The neighborhoods … between the Jewish French Hill and Arab Sheikh Jarrah are but a few of those that are to be relinquished in an agreement reached by this government,” … “The routes leading to Mt. Scopus and neighborhoods like Pisgat Ze’ev, Neve Ya’akov and Har Homa ARE BEING NEGOTIATED – whether they will have to be accessed via tunnels or covered roads.”

… “Jewish neighborhoods are but a few hundred meters from the Arab ones that would become part of a sovereign Arab state. “… proximity … leave[s] them vulnerable to attack, even by light weaponry - which is possessed by every Palestinian faction.”

…“It is reasonable to assume that ATTACKS WILL CONTINUE even after a final agreement.”

…”Palestinians will not give up on the "Right to Return" – including in Jerusalem. They have documented all the pre-’48 properties and plan on standing by these demands.”

…“The press – of which I am a part – is neglecting to ask the tough questions about the division of Jerusalem,”

Then Demographer Yoram Ettinger went even further … presenting his findings that the birth rate of Jews and Arabs in Jerusalem has in fact already reached parity – with an UPWARD TREND FOR JEWS and DOWNWARD FOR ARABS. “Anyone who believes that relinquishing the Arab neighborhoods will have any demographic benefit is detached from reality,” he said.

“The way Jerusalem is being negotiated personifies the unethical nature of this government,” said Danny Dayan, the new head of the Yesha Council … “Even before Annapolis, the Olmert government obviously put Jerusalem on the table, conceding at least the CLINTON parameters to the PA.”

… the Olmert government is completely willing to lie to the faces of the populace – knowing that the citizenry knows full well they are being lied to – personifies the unethical nature of the current government.

JERUSALEM WITHOUT THE HOLY TEMPLE IS NOT JERUSALEM: Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, the founder of the Temple Institute in Jerusalem spoke about his experience …. “Once we liberated the area, I saw the Prime Minister, the president and all sorts of dignitaries entering the Temple Mount. But where did they head? To the Kotel. We arrive at the Temple Mount after 2,000 years – and where did we go? And the Torah world was fully complicit in this – it was not just Moshe Dayan and the government. Humiliation. Complete humiliation.

    Unethical! Absurd! Humiliating!

US Senators Promise: Israel will receive weapons

    JUST LIKE FASCISTS AND COMMUNISTS
Senator Lieberman said that today's terrorists are "every bit as fanatical and murderous as the fascists and the communists that we faced and defeated in the last century."

    Senator James Inhofe (R-OK)
"As the second ranking member of the Senate Arms Services Committee, let me assure you that we are going to continue with our strong support," … Israel will be receiving $2.34 billion in military aid… "should anticipate" acquiring 10,000 Joint Attack Missiles (J-DAMs), 2,000 Precision Penetrating bombs and 1,000 Hellfire missiles. He said these are the weapons necessary for Israel to do "the things that you need to do for our mutual protection in the Middle East." [Oh, does this mean that Israel has to save the US and the Whole World from Iran???]

    Senator Lieberman (I-Conn)
Senator Lieberman said that the war on terrorism is a global one, … "the fight revolves … around Jerusalem." …

    My Questions Are:

Is Israel supposed to use these state of the art weapons
in self-defense against the muslim neighbors
shooting at [G.od forbid] Meah Shearim or Rehavia or Neve Yaakov
    after Yerushalayim is divided?

And then Lieberman adds salve to his political speech:
“… on the other side of the struggle are millions of people "who want the same basic things as the rest of us." This "silenced majority," he added, would pick "freedom over fear, hope over hatred, justice over tyranny,"

So I guess that’s why Defense Minister Barak tells the world that “Israel doesn’t actually need any land, we can freely give it away, because land is no defense against missles….” An excellent piece by Akiva on the absurd extremes - Absurdity - of a FEW politicians making the decisions for ALL THE JEWS in the world on Yerushalayim.

Does this mean instead of a “chicken in every pot,”
    Israel will have an
ARROW DEFENSE SYSTEM in every HOUSE?

Am I Reassured? Should the Israeli Citizens be Assured?

EATING BEEF COULD THREATEN SONS' FERTILITY
    By Roger Highfield, Science Editor

DON'T MESS WITH HORMONES, EXPERT WARNS

Thesonsof women who regularly ate beef during pregnancy are more likely tohave lowsperm counts, according to a report published today.

CopenhagenUniversityresearchers concluded that sperm counts were falling in the Westmore thana decade ago and exposure to pesticides and industrial chemicalshave longbeen under suspicion, with principle suspects including “gender-bender” chemicalsthat act like the human sex hormones.

Today, anAmerican team concludesthat women who ate a lot of beef while pregnant hadsons who were more likelyto suffer from poor sperm quality and suggest thatthe growth promoters usedin cattle may be responsible.

The studyof men living in the USA andborn between 1949 and 1983 revealed that thosewhose mothers ate more thanseven beef meals a week had a sperm concentrationthat was more than 24 percent lower than in men whose mothers ate less beef.

Inaddition, threetimes more sons of high beef consumers had a sperm concentrationthat wouldbe classified as sub-fertile by World Health Organization standards,in comparisonto men whose mothers ate less beef.

One British expertsaid that thefindings are “alarming.” Another added: “Don’t mess with growthpromotersis the obvious take home message.”

The Eyes are a Gateway to The Neshoma . . .

IF ONE HAS "KOSHER" EYES HE WILL BE ABLE TO SEE LOFTY THINGS . . .THAT THE EYES NORMALLY CAN'T SEE. (Likutei Mohoran 254)

When the Reb Yaakov Yitzchok of Lublin was a student he used to walk with his eyes closed, so he wouldn't see what he shouldn't. People went over to his Rebbe and asked what kind of foolishness this was, but the Rebbe told them to leave Yaakov Yitzchok alone.

When he reached of age a fine shidduch was found for him. He did not look at his kallah until the wedding, as he had no need to see her until the wedding. At the wedding, he opened his eyes to see his soon to be wife, and saw a graven image on her face. He immediately told his father that the wedding has to be called off. They were, understandably, very angry at him. The girl supposedly had all the qualities anyone would want. But, he knew what he saw on the girls face and had no choice, but to call off the wedding.

From all those years of not looking at anything improper he was able to see things that the regular eye couldn't perceive. The rest is history. He found a proper match and went on to be called the Chozeh, the Seer, because he could see from one end of the world to the other, due to his protecting his eyes from seeing the forbidden.

    SHAAS RACHAMIM

There is a kabalah passed down from the Vilna Gaon , which is also said by Reb Ahron Roth .

If one comes across a forbidden sight, and conquers his yetzer hara and doesn't look, it is a shaas rachamim, a time of mercy from Heaven, and whatever one davens for at that time is mesugal to be accepted.

Similarly, R' Yehudah Tzadka related that one of the big Rabbonim asked the Baba Sali zt”l why his own tefilos were not answered, but when the Baba Sali davened, the Baba Sali is answered? Baba Sali zt"l answered: "because I guard my eyes and mouth".

The Nes of Krias Yam Suf

    THE LIVING TORAH MUSEUM

There’s a very interesting Living Torah Museum in the heart of Brooklyn. This museum has a copy of all the amazing underwater filmfootage of wheels and axles at the exact location where Chazal tell us the crossing of the sea took place. Visitors to the Museum can request a screening of this film that lasts about 20 minutes as part of a museum tour.

A medical research scientist and professor at Karolinska Institute in Sweden lead a team of researchers who spent 20 years at Nuweiba Beach, searching the floor of the Red Sea for evidence. The deep waters of this sea are not affected by weather changes or storms so everything lying on the seabed remains intact.

One discovery that startled the scientific world is a completely intact gold/electrum chariot wheel of a royalchariot. This style of wheel dates to the 18th dynasty of Egypt, which lasted from 1400 to 1300 BCE.

We know that Bnei Yisrael left Mitzrayim in the year 2448 or 1313 BCE. Further confirmation of the dating of these chariot wheels is another fascinating Egyptian artifact – a wall in Egypt that depicts Pharaoh Ramses II, the king who reigned during the time of yetzias Mitzrayim, standing in a chariot with the same kind of wheel.

According to the haga’os of the Gra, the mechilta in Bo states that the distance from Ramses to Sukkos was 120 mil (about 100 miles). We also know from existing records in Egyptian hieroglyphics that Migdol was the name of an Egyptian military fortress that blocked any possibility of escape to the north.

The Egyptian government is not allowing these discoveries and their related artifacts to be moved or disturbed, to protect the coral covering them.

But at the LIVING TORAH MUSEUM you are given an up-close view of Biblical artifacts from the Torah, Mishna and Gemara. To visit, call 718.686.8174 for an appointment. I wish I could upload some very nice maps that accompanied the article. So you will just have to visit the Museum to see these wonders. Take the children to enliven their Passover experience.

    MASECHES BAVA BASRA

    R. Chanina bar Papa: Hashem wanted to put a measure (limit) to Yerushalayim

The angels protested: You did not put a measure to cities of Nochrim, will You put a measure to Yerushalayim, that contains Your name, Your Mikdash and Tzadikim?

When Hashem wanted to measure Yerushalayim, the angels protested on the grounds - that if cities of gentile countries do not have boundaries, then why should the city that contains Hashem's Name - the Beis-Hamikdash and the Tzadikim be limited by boundaries?

Hashem responded by telling the Navi to run after the lad - to convey to him the message that Yerushalayim was to remain without boundaries, and that it would be full of people and animals.

    Ma Rabu Maaschecha

You are what you eat, so eat well. A stupendous insight of civilizations past has now been confirmed by today's investigative, nutritional sciences. They have shown that what was once called "THE DOCTRINE OF SIGNATURES" was astoundingly correct. It now contends that every whole food has a pattern that resembles a body organ or physiological function, and that this pattern acts as a signal or sign as to the benefit the food provides the eater. Here is just a short list of examples of Whole Food Signatures.

Remember to make the appropriate BROCHA for each of these foods in order to truly benefit from the healthy attributes Hashem has built into them.

A sliced CARROT looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye...and science shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A TOMATO has four chambers and is red. The heart is red and has four chambers. All of the research shows tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.

GRAPES hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A WALNUT looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

KIDNEY BEANS actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

CELERY, BOK CHOY, RHUBARB and more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

EGGPLANT, AVOCADOS and PEARS target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats 1 avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? ... It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

FIGS are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the motility of male sperm and increase the numbers of sperm as well to overcome male sterility. [I would add also dates]

SWEET POTATOES look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

OLIVES assist the health and function of the ovaries.

GRAPEFRUITS, ORANGES, and other CITRUS fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

ONIONS look like body cells. Today's research shows that onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. [Also I would add leeks and scallions]

What is the Doctrine of Signatures?

Doctrine of signatures: an ancient belief that plants are marked with a divine sign indicating their purpose. For example, the white spotted leaves of the lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis) resemble a diseased lung and so indicate the use of the plant for pulmonary complaints

NO ADVANCE NOTICE IS GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC WHEN A (American) FINANCIAL INSTITUTION IS CLOSED.

I went to the FDIC website to find out for myself.

Failures in 2007 were 3 the entire year, and so far in 2008, there has already been one in January. Years 2005 and 2006 there were none, but in 2003 there were eleven. Is this a normal thing, like any other business, to fold up while holding people’s money?

And now in Brooklyn, on thirteenth avenue [in the middle of a very hard-working and hard-learning religious community] there is yet another BANK opening to collect the Jewish money in exchange for all sorts of free enticements.

There are so many banks (maybe as many as one on every block, if not two) on this little stretch of shopping area that it makes one suspect that something is going on behind the financial doors of this country to cause just about one representative from each of the big banks to come to a Jewish neighborhood to entice Jewish money to perhaps bolster their drooping financial standing?

Sound far-fetched? Give it some deep hard thought.

Use That Cane, Take Up Your Crutches -- Fend Off Those Attackers!

After rise in assaults, the elderly hesitantly take up self-defense […]
    Crutches for self-defense.

[…] she has an advantage!" she said, taking one of the crutches in her hands. "What an advantage!" laughed the other participants. "No, really, she can use the crutches as a weapon
to hit the attacker … where it really hurts," … adding that hitting an ankle would also cause the attacker great pain. jpost

Do you hear that Mr. Olmert? Now the elderly will have to practice self-defense and maybe become your new Army of the Aged. Maybe you will unleash them on the attackers? They just might get the job done.

This week we just remembered the greatest Leader the Jewish People ever had. And Moshe Rabbeinu ztk”l was 80 years old when he was called by G.od to lead and defend the Jewish People.

OLMERT BAD FOR THE JEWS ….. SHMITTAH GOOD (Wonderful) FOR THE JEWS

"Unidentified Right-wing figures in the US and Israel are willing to pay big money to anyone who comes up with evidence against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that will be cause enough for him to step down as prime minister, Channel 2 revealed Thursday.

The report featured a recording of a conversation between an unnamed businessman and a private investigator hired […]: "In the beginning you may be a bit put off, but think about it, you don't have to give me an answer now," the investigator told the businessman. IT’s A ‘SHMITAH’ MIRACLE

"In what some potato farmers in the Negev are taking as a sign from G.od, the recent frost that ravaged produce across the nation selectively passed over some crops - as if guided, they say, by a DIVINE HAND.

Potatoes planted in the Negev before the beginning of the shmita (sabbatical) year, in accordance with the biblical prohibition against plowing, sowing and many other field chores, were spared the damages caused by sharp drops in temperature last week. IN CONTRAST, potatoes that were planted during the shmita year - which began at nightfall on September 13, the first day of the Jewish year of 5768 - were decimated." [… Emphasis mine]

    ONE PERSON MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

    Moshe Rabbeinu ztk"l

Born the 7th of Adar of the year 2368 from creation (1393 BCE)
He led the Jewish nation out of Egypt in the year 2448, when he was eighty years old.

In that same year, the Jewish people received the Torah through Moshe Rabbeinu at Sinai.
The Torah teaches that Moshe Rabbeinu was both the greatest prophet in history (Devarim 34:10) and the most humble person in history (Bemidbar 12:3).

Moshe was the one to confront Pharaoh and deliver the warnings of the Ten Plagues.
At Hashem’s command, he miraculously split the Yam Suf (the Reed Sea) on the seventh day after the Exodus. The miracle food, mann, fell in his merit the entire forty years that Moshe led the Jewish people in the desert. Moshe went up Mount Sinai to accept the Torah on our behalf, on Shabbos, the sixth day of Sivan, in the year 2448.

Moshe taught us the entire Torah and led the nation for forty years in the desert until he passed away at the age of 120, in the year 2488. The Revelation at Sinai was the most dramatic scene in the annals of world history. All Jews witnessed Hashem’s presence on the mountaintop and heard Him teaching us the Ten Commandments.

A psalm of thanksgiving, call out to Hashem everyone on earth.

Serve Hashem with gladness, come before Him with joyous song.

Know that Hashem, He is G.od, it is He Who made us and we are His, His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving, His courts with praise, give thanks to Him, Bless His Name.

For Hashem is good, His kindness endures forever, and from generation to generation is His faithfulness.

Rav Yaakov Emden Z’tl, in his Siddur Bais Yaakov, as well as the
Besomim Rosh (published in the Siddur Otsar Hatefillos), both write
(based upon the Zohar and the Gemora in Niddah 31A) that ....

While one is obligated to bring a Korban Todah ...,
one should always express his thanks to Hashem for all
forms of Nissim--miracles--that may happen to him.
Indeed, they write, “There is no day that passes in which a miracle
has not occurred--but the recipient of the miracle does not recognize it.”

Morevever, Rav Emden adds, “...And especially we, scattered sheep

An Announcement from Gedolei Yisroel In Eretz Yisroel
    February 1, 2008
TO OUR FELLOW JEWS LIVING IN ERETZ YISROEL
    AND TO JEWISH COMMUNITIES EVERYWHERE:

The difficult situation of the Jewish community in Eretz Yisroel fills us with trepidation. No one knows what the new day will bring. In our sins, we see the fulfillment of the posuk “Behold Your enemies are in uproar and those who hate You have raised their head. Against Your nation they deviously plot, and take counsel against those whom You protect.” Our eyes are lifted in prayer to the Creator, that all of the goings-on in the world turn for the good.

From both within and without the crisis mounts. The danger threatens both body and soul. During these days, items are on agendas that could place entire populations of Jews into grave danger, G-d forbid – including those in the Holy City of Yerushalayim. Further, there are constant attempts to undermine the foundations of pure chinuch in Eretz Yisroel and to cause harm to the holiness of Klal Yisroel. Therefore it is incumbent on us to fortify ourselves with Torah, tefilla and good deeds, to awaken the mercy of Heaven.

Dear brethren, awaken and inspire yourselves to pour out prayer before the Creator of the world, that He have pity and protect His nation from all who stand up against us, that He abolish the intentions of those who hate us and nullify the plottings of our enemies, and that the eyes of the misguided be opened to the realization that their path is foolishness and they should leave Hashem’s nation to guard its path and faith, without hindrance or interference.

We therefore call on members of Hashem’s holy nation in all the places they reside, men, women and children, to gather in tefilla on Tuesday, Erev Rosh Chodesh Adar Rishon, 5768, to recite chapters of Tehillim and the order of Yom Kippur Koton.

May Hashem hear our pleas, and turn His face to us so that we may be saved with a permanent salvation soon. And let us merit to see, quickly, the redemption of Yisroel, and gaze upon the building of the Beis HaMikdosh, quickly in our days, omein.

FROM SPAIN … to AMERICA … to TEL AVIV

Not all the news you read is fit to print, but the following I came across as a feature article on the jpost online blog section of their site. brings to mind what Reb Menachem Mendel of Rimanov (1745-1815) said:

Regarding Moshiach's task of collecting the dispersed of Israel,
R' Menachem Mendel of Rimanov asks:

Are we to suppose that Moshiach tzidkeinu will go to all the places where Israel is dispersed,
to all the corners of the earth, and collect its members like a shepherd...?"

    He answers as follows:
"The Moshiach, with his eleveated state of holiness, will conentrate his thoughts on exalted meditations and awesome forms of unification of Hashem's Names. Among the latter will be an especially petrifying and awesome form of unification which will produce the effect of gathering together all those that are born from the Jewish nation, who are dispersed over all the lands. Of their own accord they will feel compelled to come to the Holy Land. [Here he quotes Hoshea 11:11]

"At this time, each member of Israel will experience a faintness and trembling in his heart, which will hasten him to fly and reside in the place where he will be directed. This is what will be accomplished by Moshiach with a single thought concentration and by invoking a unique holy form of unification of Hashem's Names which "no eye will have seen" or known other then Moshiach himself, whom we aspire to have in our midst speedily in our days."

Will it Make a Difference to Anyone But Us?

When this article first appeared on Arutz Sheva online news (inn.com), I was very excited and sent it to some people for their response.

It was about a Canadian lawyer, Jacques Gauthier, who spent 20 years researching the legal status of Jerusalem, and he concluded:

"JERUSALEM BELONGS TO THE JEWS, BY INTERNATIONAL LAW."

So, will it make a difference to anyone but us?

So says Joe Orlow of jewishactivistnetwork.com:

“PM Olmert and Pres. Bush are set on giving control of Jerusalem over
    to the Arabs.

Now, since under "international law" (whatever that means) Jerusalem
"belongs' to the State of Israel, it seems apparent that the duly
elected PM of said state can then, under international law, transfer
    that "belonging" to someone else.

Under Torah, the Land of Israel, including Jerusalem, was given to
the Jewish People by G-d, and thus belongs to the Jewish People. And
the Land cannot be transferred or given to anyone else, since that
was not part of the original contract with G-d, that any Jew could
    effect such a transfer.”

We are back where we left off, and it ain’t getting any better.

    The Uncontested Capital Jerusalem

A Guest Reply Post by YehudaDraiman.com
    [A Renewable Energy Consultant]

    http://www.yehudadraiman.blogspot.com/

The Land of Israel and its uncontested Capital Jerusalem
The Qur'an 17:104 - states the land belongs to the Jewish people.

If the historic documents, comments written by eyewitnesses and declarations by the most authoritative Arab scholars are still not enough, let us quote the most important source for Muslim Arabs:
"And thereafter we [Allah] said to the Children of Israel: 'Dwell securely in the Promised Land. And when the last warning will come to pass, we will gather you together in a mingled crowd'.". 017.104

YUSUFALI: And We said thereafter to the Children of Israel, "Dwell securely in the land (of promise)": but when the second of the warnings came to pass, We gathered you together in a mingled crowd.

PICKTHAL: And We said unto the Children of Israel after him: Dwell in the land; but when the promise of the Hereafter cometh to pass We shall bring you as a crowd gathered out of various nations.
SHAKIR: And We said to the Israelites after him: Dwell in the land: and when the promise of the next life shall come to pass, we will bring you both together in judgment.
    - Qur'an 17:104 -

Any sincere Muslim must recognize the Land they call "Palestine" as the Jewish Homeland, according to the book considered by Muslims to be the most sacred word and Allah's ultimate revelation.

“The birthplace of the Jewish people is the Land of Israel (Eretz Yisrael). There, a significant part of the nation's long history was enacted, of which the first thousand years are recorded in the Bible; there, its cultural, religious and national identity was formed; and there, its physical presence has been maintained through the centuries, even after the majority was forced into exile. During the many years of dispersion, the Jewish people never severed nor forgot its bond with the Land. With the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, Jewish independence, lost two thousand years earlier, was renewed.”

If people of any nation were exiled to other country’s and than years later were able to reclaim their country, the world population as a whole would support such action and would not consider giving a piece of the country to the foreigners who are residing there, and under no circumstances would they consider parceling portions of the county to be set up as a separate State for the foreigners.

Why should anyone in the world consider doing this very same action with the land of Israel which is a Jewish land for thousands of years?

The Arabs living in the land of Israel have come from the surrounding Arab countries; they have no right whatsoever to any part of the land of Israel.
In the past hundred years many Jews were ejected from Arab countries surrounding the land of Israel, their property taken and their homes and lands taken over.
Let those Arabs who want to Claim the land of Israel as theirs go to those Arab countries and the homes and lands that the Jews were occupying.
Any part of the land of Israel is not occupied territory; it is legally a Jewish land and has been for thousands of years, no Arab has any right to claim any rights to the land of Israel.

The surrounding Arab countries compose of over 100 million people and millions of square miles, why do they have to bother little Israel with its territory about the size of the State of New Jersey. Maybe the world should consider giving European countries or parts to the Italians, since the Romans occupied it for many years.

    JERUSALEM
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem,
may my right hand forget its cunning.
May my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth,
if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy.
    (Psalms 137:5-6)

Jerusalem, the uncontested and undivided capital of Israel, is located in the heart of the country, nestled among the Judean Hills. The city's ancient stones, imbued with millennia of history, and its numerous historical sites, shrines and places of worship attest to its meaning for Jews.

Jerusalem the "eternal and undivided capital" of the Jewish people,

Jerusalem is -- and must remain -- the uncontested, undivided capital of Israel.

Jerusalem is the only city that can prove the validity of Israeli-Jewish existence. No one should question Jewish historic claim and affinity to Jerusalem which dates back the Canaanite period (3000-1200 BCE). The re-capture of the old city in 1967 was widely seen by the Israelis as nothing less than the renewal of God's covenant with the Jews. Jerusalem represents their past and present, a source of religious and cultural continuity without which Israel's very existence could unravel. The hope of returning to Jerusalem has sustained the Jews throughout their dispersion, and centuries of exile have been unable to extinguish it.

Abraham, Isaac and Jacobs resided in the land of Israel and Jerusalem from the year 1948 from Creation (circa 1800 BCE).

King David made Jerusalem the capital of his kingdom, as well as the religious center of the Jewish people, in 1003 BCE. Some forty years later, his son Solomon built the Temple (the religious and national center of the people of Israel) and transformed the city into the prosperous capital of an empire extending from the Euphrates to Egypt.

The Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem in 586 BCE, destroyed the Temple, and exiled the people. Fifty years later, when Babylon was conquered by the Persians, King Cyrus allowed the Jews to return to their homeland and granted them autonomy. They built a Second Temple on the site of the First, and rebuilt the city and its walls.

Alexander the Great conquered Jerusalem in 332 BCE. After his death the city was ruled by the Ptolemies of Egypt and then by the Seleucids of Syria. The Hellenization of the city reached its peak under the Seleucid ruler Antiochus IV; the desecration of the Temple and attempts to suppress Jewish religious identity resulted in a revolt.

Led by Judah Maccabee, the Jews defeated the Seleucids, rededicated the Temple (164 BCE), and re-established Jewish independence under the Hasmonean dynasty, which lasted for more than a hundred years, until Pompey imposed Roman rule on Jerusalem. King Herod the Idumean, who was installed as ruler of Judah by the Romans (37 - 4 BCE), established cultural institutions in Jerusalem, erected magnificent public buildings and refashioned the Temple into an edifice of splendor.

Jewish revolt against Rome broke out in 66 CE, as Roman rule after Herod's death became increasingly oppressive. For a few years Jerusalem was free of foreign rule, until, in 70 CE, Roman legions under Titus conquered the city and destroyed the Temple. Jewish independence was briefly restored during the Bar Kochba revolt (132-135), but again the Romans prevailed. Jews were forbidden to enter the city, which was renamed Aelia Capitolina and rebuilt along the lines of a Roman city.

For the next century and a half, Jerusalem was a small provincial town. This changed radically when the Byzantine Emperor Constantine transformed Jerusalem into a Christian center. The Church of the Holy Sepulcher (335) was the first of numerous grandiose structures built in the City.

Muslim armies invaded the country in 634, and four years later Caliph Omar captured Jerusalem. Only during the reign of Abdul Malik, who built the Dome of the Rock (691), did Jerusalem briefly become the seat of a caliph. The century-long rule of the Umayvad Dynasty from Damascus was succeeded in 750 by the Abbasids from Baghdad, and with them Jerusalem began to decline.

The Crusaders conquered Jerusalem in 1099, massacred its Jewish and Muslim inhabitants, and established the city as the capital of the Crusader Kingdom. Under the Crusaders, synagogues were destroyed, old churches were rebuilt and many mosques were turned into Christian shrines. Crusader rule over Jerusalem ended in 1187, when the city fell to Saladin the Kurd.

The Mamluks, a military feudal aristocracy from Egypt, ruled Jerusalem from 1250. They constructed numerous graceful buildings, but treated the city solely as a Muslim theological center and ruined its economy through neglect and crippling taxes.

The Ottoman Turks, whose rule lasted for four centuries, conquered Jerusalem in 1517. Suleiman the Magnificent rebuilt the city walls (1537), constructed the Sultan's Pool, and placed public fountains throughout the city. After his death. The central authorities in Constantinople took little interest in Jerusalem. During the 17th and 18th centuries Jerusalem sunk to one of its lowest ebbs.

Jerusalem began to thrive once more in the latter half of the nineteenth century. Growing numbers of Jews returning to their land, waning Ottoman power and revitalized European interest in the Holy Land led to renewed development of Jerusalem.

The British army led by General Allenby conquered Jerusalem in 1917. From 1922 to 1948 Jerusalem was the administrative seat of the British authorities in the Land of Israel (Palestine), which had been entrusted to Great Britain by the League of Nations following the dismantling of the Ottoman Empire after World War I. The city developed rapidly, growing westward into what became known as the "New City."

Upon termination of the British Mandate on May 14, 1948, and in accordance with the UN resolution of November 29, 1947, Israel proclaimed its independence, with Jerusalem as its capital. Opposing its establishment, the Arab countries launched an all-out assault on the new re-established state, resulting in the 1948-49 War of Independence. The armistice lines drawn at the end of the war divided Jerusalem into two, with Jordan occupying the Old City and areas to the north and south, and Israel retaining the western and southern parts of the city.

Jerusalem was reunited in June 1967, as a result of a war in which the Jordanians attempted to seize the western section of the city. The Jewish Quarter of the Old City, destroyed under Jordanian rule, has been restored, and Israeli citizens are again able to visit their holy places, which had been denied them during the years 1948-1967.
Conclusion, the land of Israel and Jerusalem as its undivided capital for the Jewish people is a historical fact for thousands of years and shall remain that way for eternity.
Rising in defense of our security, our liberty and our values.

    PS
The true basis for a lasting peace
A far-sighted Arab-Jewish agreement was arrived at 85 years ago but was never fully implemented. This still-legal agreement provides the basis for a solution today and should become widely publicized and supported.

In 1919, following the end of World War I, an international Paris Peace Conference was convened by the victorious Allies to settle international questions. Delegations attended from around the world including an official Arab and Zionist delegation. The Arab delegation was led by Emir Feisal I, who agreed that the entire Palestine territory of the Balfour Declaration of 1917 would become the Jewish national home and expressed that position in separate letters to Zionist leaders Dr. Chaim Weizmann and Felix Frankfurter. In return for Arab support the Zionists promised economic and technical assistance to the local Arabs and the Allied powers agreed to grant eventual sovereignty to many of the Arab peoples in the region that were previously under control of the former Turkish Ottoman Empire.

This conference, and a subsequent one at San Remo Italy, amicably settled the issues among the parties with voluntary, legally binding, international agreements. In 1922 the League of Nations assigned Britain as the Mandatory to faithfully carry out these agreements. It was British Colonial Secretary Winston Churchill who unilaterally divided Mandatory Palestine into an exclusively Arab sector (Trans Jordan) and a Jewish sector. The Arabs received 76% of the original territory, comprising 35,000 square miles, located east of the Jordan River. That left the Jewish sector with only 10,000 square miles out of their original 45,000 square miles, which was still less than 1% of the combined Arab areas of 5 million square miles. That remaining Jewish sector is today contested with the 'Palestinians' claiming the 'West Bank' and Gaza to create, in effect, a second Palestinian state. (Jordan is mostly Palestinian.) It was the British, in 1919, who began to undermine their own Mandate and to instigate the Arabs against Jews.

"Under this settlement, the whole of Palestine on both sides of the Jordan was reserved exclusively for the Jewish People as the Jewish National Home, in recognition of their historical connection with that country, dating from the Patriarchal Period. ... The Palestine aspect of the global settlement was recorded in three basic documents that led to the founding of the modern State of Israel: ... The British Government repudiated the solemn obligation it undertook to develop Palestine gradually into an independent Jewish state. ... The US aided and abetted the British betrayal of the Jewish People by its abject failure to act decisively against the 1939 White Paper despite its own legal obligation to do so under the 1924 treaty. The UN Partition Resolution of November 29, 1947 illegally recommended the restriction of Jewish legal rights to a truncated part of Palestine. ... Despite all the subversive actions to smother and destroy Jewish legal rights and title of sovereignty to the entire Land of Israel, they still remain in full force by virtue of the Principle of Acquired Rights and the doctrine of Estoppel that apply in all legal systems of the democratic world."

It has been argued, by scholars of international law, that the agreements of the international Paris Peace Conference of 1919, and their formal assignment to Britain as the Mandatory by the League of Nations, continue to be legally binding on all parties under international law. In addition to Jewish legal claims based on the 1922 law a case can be made that it is also morally binding and that England is guilty of bad faith and for having engaged in deliberate sabotage of that agreement. A most promising beginning for Arab-Jewish relations in the Middle East was deliberately undermined by England and this part of history must be brought to bear upon the present conflict. Israel has a right to make full land claims under that 1922 Mandate by the League of Nations. The Arabs should also be made aware that it was England that instigated them against the Jews in pursuit of British imperial interests and to the disadvantage of both Arabs and Jews.

Significantly, Arab support for a Jewish state was clearly manifested at the Paris Peace conference of 1919. This should also be part of the legally binding Arab obligations to acceptance of a Jewish state with full rights. Emir Feisal I, son of Hussein, Sheriff of Mecca led the Arab delegation to the Paris Peace Conference of 1919. Excerpts of two letters from Emir Feisal to Zionist leaders Dr. Chaim Weizmann and to Felix Frankfurter indicate their friendly relations and high hopes for Jewish - Arab cooperation. Also note in the following text the term 'Palestine' clearly refers to the Jewish national home and not to any Arab entity or people.

From Emir Feisal to Dr. Weizmann:
"His Royal Highness the Emir Feisal, representing and acting on behalf of the Arab Kingdom of hedjaz, and Dr. Chaim Weizmann, representing and acting on behalf of the Zionist Organization, mindful of the racial kinship and ancient bonds existing between the Arabs and the Jewish People, and realising that the surest means of working out the consummation of their national aspirations is through the closest possible collaboration in the development of the Arab State and Palestine, and being desirous further of confirming the good understanding which exists between them, have agreed upon the following Articles:" ... Article IV: "All necessary measures shall be taken to encourage and stimulate immigration of Jews into Palestine on a large scale, and as quickly as possible to settle Jewish immigrants upon the land through closer settlements and intensive cultivation of the soil. In taking such measures the Arab peasant and tenant farmers shall be protected in their rights, and shall be assisted in forwarding their economic development."

From Emir Feisal to Felix Frankfurter:
"... We feel that the Arabs and Jews are cousins in race, having suffered similar oppressions at the hands of the powers stronger than themselves, and by a happy coincidence have been able to take the first step towards the attainment of their national ideals together." "We Arabs, especially the educated among us, look with the deepest sympathy on the Zionist movement. Our deputation here in Paris is fully acquainted with the proposals submitted yesterday by the Zionist Organization to the Peace Conference, and we regard them as moderate and proper. We will do our best, in so far as we are concerned, to help them through: we wish the Jews a most hearty welcome home." .... "People less informed and less responsible than our leaders and yours, ignoring the need for cooperation of the Arabs and the Zionists have been trying to exploit the local difficulties that must necessarily arise in Palestine in the early stages of our movements. Some of them have, I am afraid, misrepresented your aims to the Arab peasantry, and our aims to the Jewish peasantry, with the result that interested parties have been able to make capital our of what they call our differences. ..." What remains now is for all parties to courageously and boldly cast off the mindless schemes of Oslo and the Road Map and return to the sanity and statesmanship of the 1919 agreement. Those Arabs who have an acquired identity as 'Palestinian' should be given a far better alternative option than to be buried alive inside a non-viable illegal micro-state carved out of the Israeli heartland.

    The Win-Win solution
Contrary to popular belief, the Arab-Israeli conflict has a reasonable solution. An orderly resettlement elsewhere of the so-called Palestinian Arabs would solve this long-standing 'intractable' problem. To propose this solution today elicits automatic rejection by almost everyone and perhaps even anger and hostility at its very mention (although attitudes may finally be changing). This is because the minds of many have been so thoroughly conditioned, with layer upon layer of repeated falsehoods, such that open-minded reconsideration is almost impossible. But resettlement could become the basis of a win-win solution for both sides.

For example Saudi Arabia comprises some 750,000 square miles. It has a very low population density of only 33 per square mile vs. 1,000 for Israel including the territories. A modest 4% of Saudi Arabia, some 30,000 square miles, should be set aside for a new Palestinian state. That state would be 13 times the size of the present Palestinian area proposed under the Road Map and would now have ample space for natural growth. All of the intractable problems facing both Jews and Arabs, arising under the present schemes, would be eliminated. The Palestinians could now construct their own state with full political independence, self-rule and full dignity. The sources of friction between them and Israel would now be removed along with all the immense human and material costs associated with the current conflict.

Palestinians could begin using their legitimate 'right of return' to exit the territories, and the refugee camps, and migrate back to their ancestral home in Arabia and thereby also be closer to Mecca and Medina. A fraction of the countless billions spent on weapons by the Arab governments could fund the cost of establishing new settlements for the Palestinians. Israel would be free of Arabs, and the Palestinians would be free of Israel. The deep wounds of both peoples would now have a chance to heal.

In early 2004 a poll by the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion shows 37% willing to emigrate in return for a home, a job and $250,000. And this is before a far better deal has been offered, including true self-rule, peace and security, plus their own ample territory. What if 'Palestinians' were offered a homeland territory, drawn from lands donated by one of the more spacious Arab countries, one expressing continuous concern, love for, and outrage at the treatment of these very same folk?

Israeli Arabs could play a constructive role in this because of their higher level of education and their experience living as full citizens in democratic Israel. They would become the managerial and entrepreneurial class and provide valuable assistance and leadership for fellow Palestinians who were stagnating in refugee camps inside other Arab countries. This crime was committed by their own brother Arabs, who refused to allow them to settle.

Once the migration starts toward a far better future the movement could well accelerate voluntarily because the first ones to relocate would receive the best 'ground floor' opportunities and the last ones to move would get what remains. Today there are tens of millions of people on the move around the world in search of better living conditions, so relocation is a long established and viable option for everyone.

Another important advantage is that Israeli-Palestinian interaction would be limited to the selling of Arab homes in the territories and an orderly exit. No more frustratingly complex agreements as with Oslo where Israel honors all commitments and Arabs violate all commitments, and even U.S. assurances often prove worthless. The less need for Israel to depend on agreements with Arabs, Europeans and even Americans the better.
Part of the problem are those Arab governments who deliberately keep the Israel-Palestinian conflict alive to divert attention from their own corrupt regimes. Also, western governments still pander to their corrupt Arab clients for purely expedient reasons. But new progressive voices are emerging among Arab intellectuals and even among some Moslem clerics that call for Arab societal reform, and who also recognize Jewish rights in the land of Israel. These voices need to be encouraged and enlisted in this quest for sanity.

What is also needed is Saudi cooperation and active support. The Saudis have long been responsible for promoting anti-Jewish, anti-Christian, and anti-American hatred along with funding terror and the teaching of a hateful form of Islam. With their 'royal' family of thousands of princes living lavishly, off of oil income and the labor of foreign workers, they are a cesspool of corruption that even Osama bin Laden finds offensive.
It is time to demand that the Saudis make a major contribution to solve the Arab-Israeli conflict. They caused much of the problem and they must now assist with the solution. It is time for the Bush administration to make the Saudis 'an offer they can't refuse' and have them realize they have a direct interest in providing 'land for peace'.
For too long many people have labored under a collective mindset resembling a bad dream where big lies become entrenched wisdom and truth is constantly strangled. Unless we change direction there will be dire consequences extending well beyond the peoples of the region. Those who still have minds and morals intact now have an obligation to think clearly and with sanity and support this approach to finally resolving the Arab-Israeli conflict.

    See:
The mandates for Mesopotamia, Syria and Palestine were assigned by the Supreme Court of the League of Nations at its San Remo meeting in April 1920. Negotiations between Great Britain and the United States with regard to the Palestine mandate were successfully concluded in May 1922, and approved by the Council of the League of Nations in July 1922. The mandates for Palestine and Syria came into force simultaneously on September 29, 1922. In this document, the League of Nations recognized the "historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine" and the "grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country."

    WAKE UP WORLD !!
JERUSALEM BELONGS TO THE JEWS ???

    (IsraelNN.com) Jacques Gauthier, a non-Jewish Canadian lawyer
who spent 20 years researching the legal status of Jerusalem,
    has concluded:
"Jerusalem belongs to the Jews, by international law."

Gauthier has written a doctoral dissertation on the topic of Jerusalem
and its legal history, based on international treaties and resolutions
    of the past 90 years.
The dissertation runs some 1,300 pages, with 3,000 footnotes.
Gauthier had to present his thesis to a world-famous Jewish historian
and two leading international lawyers - the Jewish one of whom
has represented the Palestinian Authority on numerous occasions.

Gauthier's main point, as summarized by Israpundit editor Ted Belman,
is that a non-broken series of treaties and resolutions, as laid out by the San Remo Resolution, the League of Nations and the United Nations,
gives the Jewish People title to the city of Jerusalem.
The process began at San Remo, Italy, when the four Principal Allied Powers
of World War I - Great Britain, France, Italy and Japan - agreed to create
a Jewish national home in what is now the Land of Israel.

    TODAY
Given Jerusalem's strong Jewish majority, Gauthier concludes, Israel should be demanding that the long-delayed city referendum on the city's future be held as soon as possible. Not only should Israel be demanding that the referendum be held now, Jerusalem should be the first order of business. "Olmert is sloughing us off by saying [as he did before the Annapolis Conference two months ago], 'Jerusalem is not on the table yet,'" Gauthier concludes. "He should demand that the referendum take place before the balance of the land is negotiated. If the Arabs won’t agree to the referendum, there is nothing to talk about."
